1) The 1st-round SuperDraft pick in question will be the Bloggers' last pick in that round.
2) The PTBNL will be chosen from a player not on the Commies' 30-man roster.

Confirmed. Someone give me a SS; my chance at the fungible dregs of talent in the dispersal pool is now shot!

Philadelphia Failures:

With the tragic passing of Bruzer's latest endeavor in a puff of whimsy, my Phoenixes have the only Jimmy Rollins in the league, the 2004 Rollins, .289/.348/.455 - power and great fielding. Ozzie's glove is beyond reproach, of course, but he's not going to hit for you.

I don't ask for anything at the moment other than some stray bullpen pieces from the Red Sox: Aceves and Bard, plus Scutaro if you didn't burn him on the auction, just so I have a backup plan at short. I'd also like your first-round Super-Draft pick. In essence, the cost is entirely deferred, and you gain a likely starter, given the Wizard's tendency to OBP .260.

Also, Citizen X, please don't give Hornsby to Cthulhu. Thanks.

I don't think Aceves or Bard could count as plus anything to anyone who was awake in 2012, but I'd accept a second-rounder in lieu of the first. Second round Super-Draft picks have been used on such legends of the game as Scott Fletcher, Matt Mantei, Vicente Padilla, and 43 year old Jim Kaat.

Bernie Williams is still on the board. Which I imagine you already know. Anyway I've got larry walker AND carlos beltran, so that doesn't really help. Open to offers though. A relief ace would be good, and I think a relief ace for Bernie Williams or Mickey Lolich is a good trade for someone.

Bernie Williams can't play right field, or hit reliably enough to be a DH, but OK. Not sure why you'd imply I'd be drafting him to apparently replace Willie Mays, either.

No one's going to trade you a "relief ace" for what's on the board, brother. Face it.

To whom it may concern: I have updated my spreadsheet to reflect my final roster, lineups, stadium plans, and strategy sliders.

News of note:
1) Mom made us move around some of the furniture in our room her basement, so the dimensions of our park have changed dramatically.
2) Bloggers fans and management alike are extremely excited about our new-look lineup--now featuring as few as 0 complete black holes!--and rotation, especially Opening Day starter Old Hoss Radbourn!
3) The Bloggers name 1967 Ken Holtzman and 1981 Tom Gorman as the Players To Be Named Later from the Odell Hale trade. Two hungry young lefthanders with quality groundball stuff, we think they fit in well on our organization. The PTBNL from the Commies will be forthcoming once their roster is finalized.

e: We're as surprised to be picking Gorman as anyone else, but our scouts are high on the kid.

Pitching is the art of instilling fear.
I was reading Ball Four today, and there was something I thought you guys would like:

In the bullpen tonight Jim Pagliaroni was telling us how Ted Williams, when he was still playing, would psyche himself up for a game during batting practice, usually early practice before the fans or reporters got there.

He'd go into the cage, wave his bat at the pitcher and start screaming at the top of his voice, "My name is Ted loving Williams and I'm the greatest hitter in baseball."
He'd swing and get a line drive.
"Jesus H. Christ Himself couldn't get me out."
And he'd hit another.
Then he'd say, "Here comes Jim Bunning, Jim loving Bunning and that little poo poo slider of his."
Wham!
"He doesn't really think he's gonna get me out with that poo poo."
Blam!
"I'm Ted loving Williams."
Sock!

With the 80th pick, the Rockford Losers select Jack McDowell, pitcher, 1995 Yankees.

It's a bit of lottery ticket given that 1995 was Black Jack's last productive season in the majors, but he's only 29 and he's my 7 or 8th option at starter, so no big deal, really. Plus, McDowell has a long and storied history of success on this team so I'm sure he will continue that should I ever need to call upon him.

South Bolton is on the clock.
