My college has a 'business incubator' that will help out idiots with bad ideas young entrepreneurs and give them free lawyer services and office space and stuff, surely there has to be something like that at your school?

I'm an alien.

I don't have to worry about timesheets, or making sure people developing the priority stuff, scheduling team meetings. I can just innovate, read over the code, make small changes here and there, and continue developing the big picture statpedia vision.

Not cool. Not cool marking my good stuff as spam.

I had to go unspam it in the moderator tools! :)

What genre would the music in the background of "A Mr. Cat's Life" fall under?

My opinions, though not completely awful are expressed in a tiresome and needlessly aggressive way. Please help me to chill out.

Post Stats on Anything
Class are fine.

Did well in the Python Class. Had to drop the quantum mechanics class. Have about half a quarter of notes. Basically particle in a box equations, and measuring the outcomes in 1 and 3 dimensions. Had to remember the chain rule, and every other piece of math for the schrodinger equation such as that h bar being the frequency of light.

Machine Learning class I have to build this decision tree learner algorithm with boosters to analyze this particle data. Fairly Complex. I am going to work on that today. I now understand how one can build different ratings system algorithms. Here is the entire class on a link with all the matlab code and quick ppt slides of these built in learner algorithms posted: http://sli.ics.uci.edu/Classes/2012F-273a One could probably have a good grasp of the material after flipping through the powerpoint slides.

Particle Physics, I wrote down all the notes every day, and just sort of take it in piece by piece. A bit behind on that one. I understand these Lagrangians for dealing with spacetime, the laplacians for taking the gradient from all these classes. These math tools are used everywhere.

Taylor expansion with the Euler formula is just something that I needed to grasp on my own to really know what that imaginary i is doing out there in the world. All my linear algebra is being used all the time.

High Performance Archetecture. I am supposed to implement something and write about it. I think an improved caching layer on statpedia would qualify. Efficiency of running various nested loops, dependent functions preventing things running in parallel... hmm.

Here is the optional final:

CS 243 (Optional/MS pass) Final Exam:

1. Which of the following types of architectures would benefit MORE
from a larger register file, everything being equal: RISC or CISC?

2. What are the differences between multithreading and VLIW
Parallelism exploitation, form the point of view of a compiler (i.e.,
what would a compiler have to do for a VLIW machine, and what for a
multithreaded one; assume the machines cannot do both).

3. What is the difference between software pipelining and unrolling?
Which is better for parallelism exploitation, and why?

4. What is the difference between Instruction Level Parallelization
(in general, with any and all of the code transformation techniques we
talked about) and Vectorization (again, in general, with all the
transformations we talked about). Which is more likely to find more
parallelism in a given Scientific (numerical) program? In a
non-numerical (e.g., systems/AI) program? Explain your answers.

It is interesting stuff. You are all welcome to share input on those questions.

GCC and Intel compiler stuff. Non-Trivial stuff. Everyone running around saying what is trivial and what isn't. lol

That scraperwiki site is something else. Wow.

Wolfram is free for the first 2000 queries. Then I have to go beg wolfram at his doorstep and say statpedia is a good cause and marketing. I myself click on the wolfram statpedia box, and then direct myself to the wolfram site. Everyone wins, and I see advertisments through statpedia to wolfram, and wolfram makes money.

As far as Project Manager goes. I seriously do a lot. Project Manager is like super helping hand for a lot of very important stuff.
