Just got around to watching the finale, what is the deal with Sons and having lovely covers of good songs? it's like somewhere at a meeting someone said "dudes, wouldn't it be totally rad to have new updated versions of all these classic tracks on our show? they're already good, so therefor a cover by a new band would be better!" I guess bands are running out of ideas just like movie makers. Good parts about this episode: Tig didn't die, more him wanting transvestite penis shenanigans will ensue. plus he got a dog which was pretty Tara trying to assert her dominance on Gemma and getting one punched was pretty hilarious, hate her and her stupid power trip. Bobby leaving, seriously I would too, gently caress Jax

I guess bands are running out of ideas just like movie makers. Usually it's cheaper to get the cover bands music for your show, I think. It's why you can hear covers of stuff like Beatles songs but rarely hear the original in movies (because it's expensive as gently caress)

There is nothing wrong with that version of 'Sympathy for the Devil'. Actually, the worst part about it was the fact that it was used in the show.

This was mentioned on a podcast I listen but it really struck true with me. When was the last time we saw, for example, Bobby and Tig talking to one another, and if they were talking to one another, about something other than the main Jax vs Clay thing? This could really be any combination of characters. Chibs and Tara. Tig and Gemma. Bobby and Juice etc etc.

This could really be any combination of characters. Chibs and Tara. Tig and Gemma. Bobby and Juice etc etc. This is just another example that shows just how far it drifted from the early seasons. You don't care about any of them, nor do they matter whatsoever. Not even Opie's death matters, apart to give some misguided sense of vigilance where we apparantly have to cheer on a guard being beaten to death with a snowglobe. In a way, the only thing this serie does, is torture porn disguised in a horrible mask of vigilante. How anyone can cheer on anything that's happened the last two seasons is beyond me though. I can't even justify popcorn fantasy anymore. It's just vile. The lack of character development, or even some loving interaction, adds to that feeling. They are all pawns to be abused for the next big shocker, instead of actual characters that push the show forward. Just loving off them all and be done with it. I think this season has actually pushed me away from the show period, despite the investment, morbid curiosity and the fun of reading this topic.

It's also an FX crime show. It's perfectly reasonable for Justified to be recommended above anything else to someone who's gone off SoA. Also the praise it gets pissed Sutter off.
