Lou lost some weight recently. It's a pretty long story: The week of Christmas I was going to be out of town for a while so we decided to leave Lou with my girlfriend's grandma. She's 86, she's always loved cats, and her cat died a few months ago after a long, healthy life. We were only planning on leaving him for 4 days, but once we saw how happy she was to have him we decided that she should keep him. It broke my heart but it seemed like the right thing to do, especially since Sandy hit us pretty hard and we're still in the renovation process. So, almost 2 weeks go by and we decided to go visit granny and Lou. The apartment was looking a bit messy, and it smelled horribly of cat pee. After a nice lunch my girlfriend and I started talking seriously about her grandmas depreciating mental health, and we realized that she had completely forgotten that she was taking care of Lou. Hence his weight loss. Anyway, after a very awkward couple of days talking to her whole family it became clear that granny needed to be in assisted living, and that Lou should come back with us. I'm glad to have him back, but it's totally depressing to think about the whole situation. So.... that's Lou's current status!

jesus christ if thats real i rescend my offer for money unless theres a way i can write a check to your vet directly because if you're too poor to afford a vet bill but you still have broadband internet then you probably have a coke habit or something. i will meet you halfway to take custody of your cat if that helps.

You know there's veterinarians who come to your house to do euthanasia? And that the reason why most euthanasias get hosed up is because people have no clue about dosing? They also give sedatives prior to euthanising to prevent the animal from freaking the gently caress out as it dies. Also horses are basically big mammals that like to die in the most traumatic and expensive way possible and are in no way comparable to a house cat.
