I find with pet photography you just gotta get out there and follow them around. There's no real trick other than maybe edging towards a higher shutter speed and a short focus, but it's really all over the place. You might as well be asking 'how do I shoot a human' it's so open-ended. Erm, being in focus helps though. Anyway more from my rear end in a top hat cat:  Untitled by Aaronicon, on Flickr

  I want to try setting up a decent backdrop and taking some more snake pictures that way. It's really dark inside and too cold to try natural lighting outside for reptiles.
