It needs more backpack and bank space. It sucks when I find something cool or a legendary when the planets align but have no space to use it. The first game got it right and it baffles me that the second one did not.

To be fair, you can only have 6 Pokemon on your character at any time. The only difference is that your bank for spares is MUCH larger in Pokemon.

Yeah, about that...

Johnthedarkside and I were playing tonight, and I learned something.

If you sell stuff to a vending machine and then fill your pack up to the limit, you can go back to the vending machine and buy back everything you've sold - it will be added back to your pack regardless of size. I'm currently holding 37 things in my pack, and I'm not even trying to abuse this yet.

In conclusion, if Gearbox hadn't intended for us to HOARD ALL THE THINGS, they wouldn't leave such wonderful loopholes for us to act like deranged hoarders.

There's a max to that... I don't remember exactly, but I think it's something like 45 if I remember correctly. Somewhere on the Gearbox forums they explain that they didn't give us all the storage space we wanted because they intended for guns to be relatively disposable. I think that's crap. I make alts and guest account characters to hold everything I possibly can.

You can also hoard using the bank. Just select an item in your inventory, and when the cursor goes over to the bank, press right to go back to your inventory. Whatever you select will be added to the bank.

My bank is packed and I can always just swap that space with something else if I want to.

You don't "need" any of the high-level loot, really. They wouldn't put something you need behind a wall of lovely-drop-rate-farming. No, these are things people (like me) want. I like collecting poo poo for no good reason. I'm certainly not throwing away anything I expended some amount of effort to obtain. drat, now I hope they accomplish the level-cap-raise without actually raising the levels, or I'm going to have to get everything again :argh:

I'm with you in the desire to collect things. I generally don't criticize this game and appreciate even the most annoying aspects but I have a hard time overcoming my obsessive compulsive desire to collect 'everything'. If they fix the bank glitch, I'll start making mules, if they get rid of claptrap's stash, I'll just make copies of my saves.

There are a number of reasons for having more gear though. There is enough variety to try experiment with different builds and if you play as a gunzerker, the number of guns you want doubles. I have found that I prefer DPS oriented builds but for some fights, master gee for example, encourages you to build a drastically different tank build. The rough rider shield is another example that begs for a different gameplay style. You can even go in a completely different direction with the sham and etech vladof launchers. I enjoy playing with all of these builds and you need quite a bit of equipment if you want to be able to use all of them.

Using the same stuff all the time gets boring. There are 5 classes and a 6th one on the way. Each classes utilizes different gear better than others. It would be really nice to have the backpack and bank capacities of the first game.

It's really weird that they let you get quests for level 50 characters in the first playthrough. Me and my friend finished playthrough 1 and he assumed we'd be able to go and fight it since we could get the quest, had to explain that we weren't going to be doing that for awhile. Got a Conference Call from the Warrior as well and that's making the Big Game Hunt DLC alot easier than it's seems to have been for most.

It's just a single treasure chest at the base on the right hand side of the pyramid as you look at it from the entrance. It's a tiny room you wouldnt see unless you were about one tier up from the bottom. It's drop is about as good as the chests in the center of the pyramid top.

Sweet, killed the final boss for the first time (PT1), and the loot that was dropped was amazing compared to The Destroyer's meager offerings. First orange item that wasn't useless dropped as well (Volcano sniper whooooo!).

Need to decide now if I'll dive into PT2, or if I'll get a few chars as far as Sanctuary so they can unlock some bank space and act as mules.

Can someone answer a couple of quick questions please? I know I could google them but I'd still like to avoid knowing "too much" as I'd like to stumble across side-quests and hidden things on my own:

1) Does Crazy Earl have new stuff for sale in PT2, or will each character be limited to 27 backpack slots, 16~ (or however many) bank slots, and the 4-slot trade container? Same thing for ammo, does everything max out relatively low compared to PT1?

2) If there's no new ammo/SDUs to buy then will there be other ways to spend Eridium? This can just be a yes/no answer to avoid spoilers.

3) What's the best way to be properly prepared for a strong start in PT2? Farm the final boss a few times in PT1, do some of the undiscovered side-quests, or just go for it as better gear will surely drop once I start PT2? (Currently lvl 31 Siren, nice hoard of purple/blue stuff for all slots, all points in Cataclysm branch.)

Thanks for the info!

1) No, nothing new for sale.
2) Uhh, sort of? you can use it to unlock the raid bosses but except for one of the ones in Hammerlock dlc those don't cost very much
3) I farmed the final boss a few times and got to ~34 which helped starting out in pt2. Thing is about pt2 is that everyone's health and the gun's damages start to scale really fast, so a level 35 white is almost always going to be better than even a lvl 32 purple. You're basically going to be replacing your shields and guns and grenades every couple levels so don't worry about gearing up too much.

The other thing about pt2 is that the resistances/weaknesses to elemental damage get bigger. For example, fire goes from 1.5x vs health, and 0.75x vs shield and armour to 1.75x vs health and 0.4x vs shield and armour. Matching them up correctly becomes a much bigger deal, and also almost everything picks up a shield (well maybe not some of the animals like rakks and skags). So unfortunately for the Siren, her cataclysm skills lose effectiveness since they're gonna be resisted a bunch and they don't scale in damage very well. I mean you could probably make it work, just saying that if you have difficulty don't be afraid to spec into some of the other trees (converge from the motion tree is really helpful, as is sweet release from harmony. Res from harmony is amazing if you play multiplayer but useless otherwise).

1. No, Earl will max out once you buy it all between PT one and two.

2. Eridium, once you have spent it all on Earl will only be good to get into Raid Boss lairs.

3. I farmed the warrior til about level 34 on both my play throughs. Then went and beat DLC. I just wanted level 50 and the game beat honestly for play through 2 because all side missions will level to you once it is beat as well as the loot. Weapons don't last long at your level, yer best bet is to get to 50 as fast as possible and get your weapons in line. I had a metric butt-ton of keys by play through two on both the characters I had so I was able to keep them in spec for their levels with decent gear. Don't rely on vending machines and chests to keep you up to spec unless you plan to be below 50 and just run through things the second time around.

Thanks for the info!

I did my first play-through as a Cataclysm Siren, and it can be difficult in PT2. It is certainly doable (being able to hit an enemy with every element does sort of offset the bumped-up resistances) but expect to beat your head against the wall a few times.

If you want to stay with Cataclysm and not respec, I suggest putting points into the ability that releases health orbs on killing an enemy while it's phaselocked (Name escapes me as I just woke up and my brain isn't fully functional yet). With the Siren having so few ways to gain health without going to Zed's or relying on health vials, I find that an enemy who is phaselocked and slagged tends to go down quickly with an appropriate level weapon in hand and the healing could be a huge help. You'll also want to put points into reducing the cooldown if at all possible. With command of the elements (and I'd assume Helios), you'll want to take advantage of that as much as possible. Slag and playing the elements correctly is your friend in PT2 and having Phaselock on rapid availability will be a huge help.

You could respec into Motion and take Thoughtlock, which may be the better choice in terms of survivability, but Cataclysm is certainly possible if you want to take that path.

In terms of equipment, I tended to have a fire, shock, and corrosive weapon in three of my spots, and changed the fourth as needed. Either a spike shield or a variable shield for elemental resist + health increase worked, and I eent with slag or non-elemental transfusion grenades to supplement the healing I got ftom killing a phaselocked enemy. As for a relic, choose what fits your playstyle and the situation at hand.

Good luck!
