Re-submitting my Stan team with 81 Schmidt AND Mariano, giving my slightly-altered team name another, better layer of depth and it didn't even take tearing it down and starting from scratch. And I only left like $54,000 over. Hooray

e: Wait, no, I want to switch out Hemus to improve my Mariano

e2: better

Got my Stan team in! My pitching is going to suuuuuck, but my offense is insane.

3 games in Coors with All Bonds hitting against Docs' White. No dingers. Won the first game 9-8, the 2nd game 21-20, and the 3rd 17-5. I repeat, no dingers were hit.

This lineup owns but now I'm starting to question my decision of not having any left handed starters what with the abundance of good Stan Musials in the league.

I checked, and 2 of my 3 main starters are lefties, woo!

Oh, there's plenty of other balls in the sea. Plus, you're not very talented.
May not help much since they're high average/low walk guys in this league.

I've never really looked into the effects of splits in SLB. I just tried to put together the best pitching staff I could afford and noticed after the fact that it was pretty right handed.

That's pretty much every pitching staff I build so par for the course I guess

e: defensive replacements and all the jazz set. Team is ready to go.
Now I just need to do the same with my Zodiac team.

And of course it would be great if someone would join prog so we can get started there...

For brand new players a rebuilding prog team is probably not the best introduction to WIS. It would be much better if we could get someone with some seasons under their belt.

You ever build a team and then go back a week later when the league actually starts and wonder what the hell you were thinking?

I theoretically have enough PAs here but they're distributed so strangely that I'm going to be shuffling guys around and could possibly be in stamina hell all season. No real bench to help either.

If you're willing to reshuffle the lineup daily or update-ly then you'll be okay.

Yeah I'm going to have to. I'm usually pretty set it and forget it with my lineups but I'll have to make an exception for this team.

ArtVandelay

Through 17 games, my Bonds/Carl Mays team has given up 297 runs, 169 of which are earned. 1997 Barry is my shortstop, he already has 34 errors.

That'll happen when you have 10% more PAs than the league average.

Any time you have a 755 PA guy below 100% things are simply out of your hands.

So, are we going to do a Yahoo WiS goon fantasy baseball league this year?

I've always used Yahoo, and I have the terrible terrible player profile to show it. Needless to say i'm exactly as bad at rotisserie as you'd think I would be.

Is anyone else having problems with graphics not loading recently? The background colors on box scores and icons in HBD player cards are very hit or miss for me lately. An F5 usually fixes it but it's still kind of annoying. This is happening to me at work and at home so I don't think it's my computer. Could be a Firefox issue I guess.

To expand on this: Milacki has very limited innings but they're very good. Set him as Closer A, don't pitch below 98%, and make sure the "Only use closer in save situations" box is checked. Milacki will get you 20-30 saves this way and still have enough juice to make a game 162 or playoff start if needed.

e: 10/15 TPC/MPC and 9th inning availability is what I use
