So it looks like this new kid has underwent a version of whatever happened to Korosensei to turn him into a weird mush monster. And I guess Korosensi is pissed that the process was repeated, that someone else was subjected to this treatment?

The plot seems to be escalating a bit more quickly than I expected of a WSJ title.

That really turned on a dime from silly to serious. Though I can't help but think that the masked man is so full of it. Pressurized beams are so not on the list of Korosensei's weaknesses.

My guess is that Itona underwent a similar exposure/treatment/ordeal to Korosensei which has given him somewhat similar powers. However my guess is that the beam only works on Itona and that all the things they think they know about Korosensei are really only true for Itona.

Judging from what we've seen in the limited flashbacks, I'm going with some sort of tentacle monster being summoned/created in a lab from space/another dimension. Korosensei was either part of or the lead member of the team. Once the tentacle monster was here it destroyed the moon and killed all the scientists at the lab. For some reason instead of killing Korosensei it instead either bonded or changed him to be more like it.

Itona got the abilities from whatever agency trying to either duplicate the "experiment" or implanting whatever small parts of the original tentacle monster remained after it was dead/inside Korosensei.

Still, we are all brothers when it comes to liking big boobs.

Consequently, he had to start making the useless humans do more of the work.

And, yes, it did get more amazing at that point.

Yeah, I could have phrased it better. What I was getting at is that the ridiculously powerful presence is suddenly slightly less ridiculously powerful, and that's enough to make everyone go :aaaaa:

Plus the beam doesn't freeze him, it reduces his fluidity him which just makes him slower and reduces his power. Outside of someone like Itona probably doesn't help much. Especially with the whole has be be shone on him like a flashlight and can only be used at point blank range part.

Yeah the pressure beam thing relied on Koro-sensei being stuck inside the ring and made into an easy target.
