Yeah, I'm in from Wednesday. Going with a crew so I'm not doing all techno, but i've got 7(maybe 8) parties booked in. Over 4 days.

I'm going to:
detroit premier showcase at treehouse.
fold theory vs the world at catalina hotel.
bedrock at cameo. maybe drumcode at treehouse the same night too, I may have a hookup.
CLR at space
basic NYC at beach plaza hotel
born electic cruise
never say never at the sls hotel

I'm not sure how I'm going to survive it, but it should be fun trying. Flight back up to NYC from fll sunday afternoon is going to be hell on earth though.

Awesome! I live in the 305 so I have been going hard since High School pretty much.

My schedule for this year:

Thursday, Dirtybird BBQ: http://www.residentadvisor.net/event.aspx?449588

Friday, CLR @ Space: http://www.residentadvisor.net/event.aspx?455578

Saturday, Hotflush Miami: http://www.residentadvisor.net/event.aspx?454623

Sunday, Last Resort: http://www.residentadvisor.net/event.aspx?452245

Survival/saving $ tips. The obvious sharing cabs, also pregame like a motherfucker and everyone in your crew should have a flask. Specially if you plan on partying at the beach and even Space since their $8 beers are loving ridiculous.

Yeah i'm not planning to drink in clubs at all, it's pre-games and adderall all the way through for me. I was reluctant to join to begin with due to budget concerns, but once the facebook group went from 8 to 26 people all in the same hotel I figured it might get quite serious.
I'll be drinking on the zabs boat though, because it's an open bar. I'm probably going to be in a complete state by the time I get to never say never.

Not bought a flask yet but I was scouting amazon for them this week :)

In case you'd not seen it, basic NYC is a free daytime party, and cari lekebusch is playing.

Anyone have recommendations for London spots to hit up? Going to be there next week. I've been to the big clubs there before but I'm looking for off the grid spots to catch a set. Gonna be there March 1st - 10th, anyone know of anything?

I just recently took advantage of the large amount of money I'm throwing at my university and started using their music studios. I'm in no way, as of this moment (or perhaps will ever), a good musician but I enjoy electro/house and figured I would try to make my own stuff... because why not right? I was hoping for a little input on this and some tips from any one who actually does the real thing:

ugh, really?

maybe it's time for an 'EDM' thread for thoogsby and his ilk to post electro/dubstep/trap and poo poo

anyways in techno news Ben Sims (who's responsible for probably my favourite boiler room set of last year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FU7fO3xbXYI ) recently put out a 12'' of no-nonsense, stomping techno, and it bangs as you would expect: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HN2raWGsHcg

Stop it you just make yourself look like a jerk.

If you haven't seen it already, GERSAZAFELSTEIN or w/e has a pretty nice boiler room, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEVFKX85ze4

just fyi, theres a whole nother forum for music production and producing electronic music in the "musicians lounge" subforum of this forum. This thread is probably more aligned to a more "underground" sound than swedish house mafia. I had trouble typing that without laughing, but whatever.

House/electro megathread will have more people sharing "big room" house (which is what we call swedish house mafia) and here we share more things like

Tough one, he can do Tech-House, but then he'll do a big acid line sometimes, and there's often that deep tom pattern, I usually just call it Bass, UK Bass or Deep/Tech House. Here's a few others you'll probably dig:

Julio Bashmore, Mia Dora, Dark Sky, Shadow Child, Kry Wolf, Jack Dixon (more on the techy side of things)

Edit: Also does anyone know where you can order vinyl for the Nonplus comp that's coming out soon? Typically I find their stuff at Surus, but this comp is going to be strictly 1000 and I really don't want to miss it. Far as I can tell it'll be the only way to get this one on vinyl:

Try the usual suspects, your Junos, Chemicals, Boomkats, Redeyes etc they should all have it I assume. List with links etc in the OP in the UK Bass thread. And of course check your local record shop too! They may possibly be able to get it in if they've got an account with ST Holdings.

That's one comp though I'm afraid I'll be CD only for. I just can't justify 40 quid to myself right now. And man gently caress limited edition anything beyond silly gimmicks like coloured vinyl. Far as I'm concerned it should be you want it you got it (as much as possible anyway).

I really only want that Joy O tune on vinyl. If they end up doing a Think and Change sampler with that on it, then I won't need the full comp, but I'm basically willing to pay whatever it costs to get that Joy O tune. I have issues...
