They're so advanced with antigrav units and biodroid parrots that they surpassed the need for "paper copies" years ago. Printed letters are looked upon as quaint and romantic, like (real) horse drawn carriages (robot horses don't count as romantic).

Wha? Things keep happening. I really can't think of who this letter is from. Maybe this is a cunning trap the court robots have set for the mysterious rugby-ball-headed robot that infiltrated their prison a couple years ago. Its identity became immediately obvious to Lindsey so she knew to give the letter to Annie.

I would say that it could be from a girl for Kat, as a follow up to the Paz thing- but that feels a bit off-note for the comic. (Also no, Kat doesn't have to oppose Annie because of some stupid essentialist "technology vs nature" crap. They aren't D&D alignments.)

Really though this is the funniest possibility. Tony has plenty of legitimate avenues of communication; he just prefers the method of repeatedly loving around with his daughter's emotions and social life. No particular reason, really. :allears:

If so, I'm right there with you. Although actually I just tried shifts based on one-letter words (of which there are a very limited number).

On an unrelated note: every Gunnerkrigg Day for the last two weeks, I've expected to see the little end-chapter symbol on the page, but the chapter keeps on going! This is not a criticism; it's just that any of the last few pages would have served as a conclusion if required.
