Where are you guys getting your info about this game?? I logged on my old 70 necro on test and hired a merc and wandered around POK for a bit but I had literally no idea where to level or what I should do.

To be fair, "serious competition" hasn't existed in MMOs since instancing raids became A Thing. And I'm not really sure how the progression is any less meaningful than on live, really. You progress faster due to double exp but that's about it. *shrug* No market is a distinct annoyance. I tend to farm plat on live, buy whatever I need there, and then testcopy it. Thankfully there's vanishingly little that you actually need from the Bazaar, particularly if you play on test with us, as we've probably got it sitting around for whoever needs it.

I think the progression being mostly meaningless is a Sony decision thing. It used to be you had to build up your armor, but now you hit your 80s.. "Want to grind out some HoT gear? Here have some VOA gear... it's droppable and cheap and better than everything except t4 raiding gear." Same thing with VOA and RoF gear. Then you get a full set of easily available t1 RoF gear and it's only a very slight downgrade to the t2. (And there isn't any other tiers unless you raid.) Even rank 2 spells are just as easy as buying something on bazaar / grabbing it from the guild bank. This is true on both test and live, so I wouldn't say it's a downside to Test.

I can follow you on the market thing. I too would prefer if there was no testcopying and endless duping, because I actually like building up platinum and gear honestly in MMORPGs. Alas, you can't really play on Test and be a man of principle in that regard, because the market prices are out of whack, so you just have to jump aboard the copy train. The upside is that the server is more of a playground, allowing you to experiment and makes tons of alts, and play them on fast forward. Having a lot of fun multiboxing for free is really awesome. A sick part of me wishes they'd shut down the server and nuke all characters, forcing me to play the "real" way on Live, but it's just a weird thought.Tomahawk posted:Where are you guys getting your info about this game?? Ah well guess their value has diminished greatly. They're still pretty neat for getting a new alt a super fast mount through the Casino. If you have the 6 droppable items on you that can result from turning it in, you can only either get the DE mask or the mount, so a maximum of 2 tickets are required to get the mount.

My Druid and my SK hit 80 last night, what type of gear should I be on the look-out for? The Druid is basically in Elaborate defiant, and the SK is in raid gear from about 7 years ago. (his main weapon is Deathblade of Zun'Murum as a reference to the type of gear he has)

Do we have anyone who can make / have copies of the RoF cultural knight weapons? Regal Infused Knight's Hooked Greatblade (two hander) is the one I most need (whatever transcendent vicious aug is fine). If so send to Kixur and I'll send my first born in payment. Edit: There was apparently one/some in the guild bank so hopefully someone still has a way of getting another, it's a pretty big upgrade for me now. I did a google search and I guess the armor I need is Abstruse, which I've heard thrown around here and in guildchat before. Can anyone make it, and if so what should I look out for? Also, I have like 20 Manastones (I have one sitting on my plat/exp pot copy mule) so if anyone would like to tool around with one let me know. I'll start destroying them once I run out of room.

I just wanted to thank Landrice for letting me join his Lesson burn last night; with Test bonus, weekend bonus, Lesson, and Learner's Aura x2 (I am not sure if they stack - probably not), I made over 2 levels in 30 minutes. The irony is now my highest level character has by far and away the fewest AA of any of my toons.

If you wanted any dumbass clickies from luclin, those spawns are a lot easier now since you get basically a double chance at them with fabled/non-fabled versions. Do the 10 dose 100% xp potion if you haven't done that already and then level and get some of the augs along the way. There are a lot of them that are still very good choices to this day. edit: VVVV http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=6782 13th and 12th anni augs aren't INSANELY good or anything but they're relatively easy augs to get and if you're a tank will save you a couple of tedious camps. The kunark scavenger hunt gives a nice ten dose exp pot, the tenth anniversary quests give exp pots, regular pots, decent coin and various other goodies. Doing them all gives you a roboboar mount. The 13th line has a shrink casting clickie and gives a 26 slot bag if you finish them all. The newest ones can give a very nice aug.

Hahahaha, Beta server is up and I highly suggest that any of you that were in RoF beta and play a SK go check it out. Since I doubt this new disc is going to go live in any shape close to its current form. Might as well get your "I was there" stories in with it while you can.

I think our warriors were prepping a suicide pact last night over just the melee reduction part, before we figured out that it also threw 100k heals on you. It's adjusted to be more sane now.

Theres no Fabled Wand of Imperceptability huh? My Ogre SK has the regular wand, but I figured that would be a go to. I know there's the anniversary quest, but I kinda want to get my lowbies that quest to, just for the hell of it. (They're dwarves so they are already mostly small )

I wanted to play around with a Mage to 3-box with my sk and shm. I made a new Mage on FV and will copy him over. Before I do so, is there anything I should grab on FV that would be easier to get there than on test? I only have around 200k pp on FV so that limits it somewhat.

Gonna do Solteris + Steel Behemoths Monday night goonhaus style. Bunch of us are 100 now and we're warming up on Solt so we open the NPC powersource merchant then proceeding to Steel for everyone to score some nice augs. 7:30 CST should give you westcoast people time to be ready. Could use a couple more tanks since Behemoths has 3 or so active at a time if I remember it right from last year
