It'd be neat if options like those in GuP were available in World of Tanks. Since they slapped a Hetzer frame and gun kit on a Pz38t, it makes a lot more sense how fast and silly the GuP Hetzer is. An equivalent in WoT would be a goon favorite, if it were possible.

The Hetzer is just the TD version of the 38t, it has the same engine and everything else, and a slightly lower power/weight ratio. The only explanation is ANIMES, really.

The Hetzer *was* built on the chassis of the Pz38(t) and *was* (relatively) fast and maneuverable IRL :ssh:

Its technically possible to get the Hetzer nice and fairly zippy, but you need absurdly over-skilled crew for that tier. And all the best modules etc. I mean I guess the same applies to almost every tank, but I had never thought of the Hetzer at least being slow compared to other Tier 4 TDs.

I believe she was the judge/referee in the last match.

I can't wait to see the Argentine gimmick team just to see everyone else's bafflement at a team consisting of only one model of vehicle with no variants.

Actually, it'd be cool to see more obscure tanks full stop. I'd guess maybe the Sentinel will show up as the Koala team's weapon of choice, and the choice of lineup for Oorai was good in that regard, but there's so many weird and wonderful tanks out there.

Agreed, that's a pretty logical progression. I think it'd be hilarious if they encountered, say, the British team (Bovington Girls' Grammar School, perhaps?) and find that they're actually using a mix of tanks instead of keeping to the 'National Theme' like the Japanese schools.

I would be happy just to see matches between other nations, like England vs U.S or Italy vs Russia. There are so many battle scenarios they can write out.

Would also be fun to see the instructor and Nishizumi mama join the fun.

I just watched the raw of the 3rd OVA. It's quite talky, so I didn't understand much, but the Anglerfish team walks around the inside of the school ship, and apparently, school ships have been around since ancient times.

And then they go to a hot spring at the end.

What would you like to see in a second season? I'd like it to be a 2-cour season, so they could have regular season matches where they don't have to win, and so they can focus on some of the tank crews that didn't get much screen time.

If that's the case wouldn't that be a conflict of interest? I remember in the last NFL season when they had the replacement referees, one was terminated when pictures of him wearing a New Oreleans Saints jersey surfaced.

I'd like to see some shorts with the three judges (A, B, and C) and maybe some more of the Nishizumi family. Practice skirmishes with only the team might be a chance for more individuality with the ensemble. Also having them operate each others' tanks for practice or during a match would be an amusing sight

I'd like to see the teams interact with each other more- everyone attending a tea party at Darjeeling's, and Katyusha slips vodka into hers, for example. Maybe see some actual tanks tactics like Blitzkrieg, or perhaps some light, fast tanks from the Cold War period (wasn't there a Soviet tank that was almost entirely crewed by women because it was so small, or something?).

No fanservice though, unless it's of big, strong tanks, barrels glistening in the sunlight, tracks slowly grinding across the bare landscape :syoon:

I figured that was what they were training for, and the schoolships were to acclimatise them to long hauls at sea.

Next season will see them equipped with paintball guns and are ordered to 'take no prisoners'. Would be good to step up to at least 'nam era kit, so you have some girl in the gunner's seat of a UH-1 Huey screaming "GET SOME! GET SOME!" whilst mowing down competitors with a paintball M60.

Probably near future if considering the level of technology such as cellphones and cars that are recognizable as real models. I did cry inside a little when that Ferrari F40 got parked on.

They basically explain why all schools (except elementary) are on aircraft carriers. Some guy built a school-ship to give the students a broader scene of the world. Then the (Japanese) government was in economic trouble so they decided to build the ships to give a boost to their shipbuilding economy. It's a relatively new system for the Japanese but they also bring out historical examples (such as one by the ancient Romans) and the British were the first to bring about modern ship-schools.

Maybe they field anti-tank rifles, although the strategy wouldn't work as well against any group more competent at tanking than the WWII Russians who ran their tanks in tight single-file lines.

Well, they did have a single tank division. Of course, the tanks in that were former soviet tanks (lots of T-26 plus a couple T-28, T-34, KV-1 and a single ISU-152 during the Continuation War) plus a few StuGs bought from the Germans and some Vickers 6-ton tanks rearmed with soviet 45mm guns. Also, the unique BT-42: Captured BT-7 chassis with a newly-designed turret housing a british 4.5-inch howitzer.
