Definately picking up the Deluxe pack when I get paid. I love the more Gritty DEVO sound.

Oh poo poo, I never really expected that. There's hardly any albums that I would pay $50 for, but Hardcore Devo might be the first.

Seeing as it's a nice day outside (where I am, anyway) and I live walking distance from four record stores, I did the logical thing and stocked up on fresh vinyl.

Got Shel Silverstein's Freaking at the Freaker's Ball, R.E.M.'s Eponymous and The Beach Boy's Endless Summer for 10, 8 and 5 dollars respectively.

I then made the mistake of looking in the first of many shelving units full of dollar records and found one I wanted, The Balancing Act's New Campfire Songs.
After this I had to look through all of them in case I saw something else and I managed to pick up all three of The Balancing Act's records for a sweet three bucks and The Kink's Sleepwalker for about what it's worth.

For anybody who hasn't heard about The Balancing Act, they're a band that was signed to IRS and put out a few semi-decent records - nothing great, but pretty enjoyable music.
I only heard about them because Carl Newman (of the New Pornographers) recommended them on his twitter a few years back.

Wish they'd mention how many copies there are of the deluxe set, so I can gauge whether it can wait 'till later or I need to jump on it straight away.

Whoa! The bundle is cheaper than actually paying for an original of just one. I've been lusting after those for years now.

Hello,

We're writing about your order #106-5735216-6651450. Unfortunately, we recently learned that we won't be able to get this item from the manufacturer as expected. We're very sorry about this.

At this time, your order has been cancelled and you have not been charged. We realize we can't fully make up for the item being unavailable; however, we'd like to offer you a $10 Amazon.com promotional certificate that you can use the next time you order an item shipped and sold by Amazon.com.

AMOK :argh:
If you need a copy I ended up with two (one is unopened).
A store I was a little bitchy about previously called me a while back and said 'oh hey you said you wanted it so we ordered it for you'. I had been grumbling about their not having much in the way of recent releases so I felt bad and went ahead and picked it up.

Finally picked this up last night at their concert:

Five Ghosts by Stars, except on umm six 7"s. Wanted to buy it when it first came out but it would have been 20 bucks to ship it here so I never bothered.

Slightly disappointed in the colours though (though to be fair, the crappy cellphone picture doesn't do much justice here), because I was always expected this:

More of a "marbly" look than the transparents that are actually in the box.

I just got my copy of Ágætis Byrjun in the mail, and it IS the 2009 copy, not the new 2013 one, so if you're looking for that, go for it.

The order *from Fatcat UK* ended up being the '09 pressing.

The Amazon order is likely the new '13 pressing, can't confirm though.

How do you know which is which? I bought them both from Amazon so can check, as I'm sat next to them, but as far as I can tell they are both FATLP11X and FATLP22X? Is it that they are Pias as well as Fatcat? Because at least Agaetis Byrjun is, no idea about ( ) as it has bugger all on the packaging about anything.

There are no barcodes I can find (there's pretty much nothing outside of the Fatcat / Pias / Crunk / Smekkleysa logos on AB, and ( ) just has SigurRos.com on it). If it was on the shrink wrap I chucked that.

Both of them do have the runouts discogs.com mention on the 2013 versions (BC97642-01 A1 MK etc) and it doesn't mention anything for the 2009 ones.

BUT MY LIVELIHOOD DEPENDS ON THE FORUMS!
Does anybody know if there's some difference between the version of the upcoming Knife album that's being offered on their webstore ($42) and the one(s) on other sites like Insound ($30) or Amazon ($25)? I'm thinking that maybe ordering from Rabid directly might be more expensive because they might be shipping from Europe but I really have no clue and $17 seems like a big enough difference to suggest the presence of something that I'm not understanding.

The last CD I sold on eBay jumped from $115 to $265 in the last, like, 5 seconds before the auction finished. You might get more for it yet.
