I'm pretty sure when I checked yesterday, Misery Signals was at around $7,000, and now they're at $32,000. loving awesome, definitely throwing them some money this weekend. One of my favorite bands, got to see them live in February and they were just as incredible as always. I wish them nothing but good things.

The campaign has now passed the set $50000 goal, hope they can start recording soon and we do not have to wait a year for the album.

Found this text post reblogged on my tumblr feed and thought it was mostly really funny. Figured you guys might enjoy (especially the "deathcore" section) How to tell the difference between different genres of metal POWER METAL: The protagonist arrives riding a white unicorn, escapes from the dragon, saves the princess and makes love to her in an enchanted forest. THRASH METAL: The protagonist arrives, fights the dragon, saves the princess and fucks her. HEAVY METAL: The protagonist arrives on a Harley, kills the dragon, drinks a few beers and fucks the princess. FOLK METAL: The protagonist arrives with some friends playing accordions, violins, flutes and many more weird instruments, the dragon falls asleep (because of all the dancing). Then all leave........ without the princess. VIKING METAL: The protagonist arrives in a ship, kills the dragon with his mighty axe, skins the dragon and eats it, rapes the princess to death, steals her belongings and burns the castle before leaving. DEATH METAL: The protagonist arrives, kills the dragon, fucks the princess and kills her, then leaves. BLACK METAL: The protagonist IS the dragon, dwells in the heart of the night with in a castle full of hellhounds and eternal flames. He kills the sassy knight, fucks the noble steed and sacrifices the princess to Satan. GORE METAL: The protagonist arrives, kills the dragon and spreads his guts in front of the castle, fucks the princess and kills her. Then he fucks the dead body again, slashes her belly and eats her guts. Then he fucks the carcass for the third time, burns the corpse and fucks it for the last time. DOOM METAL: The protagonist arrives, sees the size of the dragon and thinks he could never beat him, then he gets depressed and commits suicide. The dragon eats his body and the princess as dessert. That's the end of the sad story. PROGRESSIVE METAL: The protagonist arrives with a guitar and plays a solo of 26 minutes. The dragon kills himself out of boredom. The protagonist arrives to the princess' bedroom, plays another solo with all the techniques and tunes he learned in the last year of the conservatory. The princess escapes looking for the 'HEAVY METAL' protagonist. GLAM METAL: The protagonist arrives, the dragon laughs at the guy's appearance and lets him enter. He steals the princess' make up and tries to paint the castle in a beautiful pink colour. NU METAL: The protagonist arrives in a run down Honda Civic and attempts to fight the dragon but he burns to death when his moronic baggy clothes catch fire. DEATHCORE: The protagonist arrives in a tank top and brand new plugs, screams "gently caress YOU SLUT" at the princess and precedes to hardcore dance until the dragon burns him to death. STONER METAL: The protagonist, dragon, and princess all smoke pot and dissolve blotter tabs while proclaiming themselves as being higher than the sun. TECHNICAL DEATH METAL: The protagonist, dragon, and princess all die of old age waiting for the new Necrophagist album to come out.

Digging Betrayal so far. I just got turned on to In Hearts Wake and really digging their music. Can anyone recommend any other similar aussie-core bands (besides the obvious PWD and IKTPQ)? Edit: Also, I remember someone mentioning Continents a while ago, checked on Spotify and they seem to have a full album out now. It's really loving good. reversefungi fucked around with this message at 23:40 on Apr 19, 2013 |

Ahahahaha, Attack Attack! finally broke up. http://www.metalsucks.net/2013/04/22/hallelujah-attack-attack-break-up/ Just as well. Once they actually tried to become serious musicians they weren't as fun to mock anymore.

Anyone else check out the remastered version of The Somatic Defilement by Whitechapel? It's probably my favorite release by them, and it sounds excellent. It's clean and sounds well produced, but is barely different from the original in any aspect that's not production, so it's not jarringly different at all.

TesseracT has a new album that leaked, Altered State. I'm a djent/groove metal enthusiast in general, but this album really is a progression in modern music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=82G1fwbnbtw This is one of my favorite songs off of the new album that they threw a little sexy jazz sax in. Goddamn it's good.

That saxophone is pretty cool! I don't know if you're serious about the "progression in modern music" thing though, the non-sax parts just sound like typical fake Meshuggah riffs. Perhaps you would like to give additional examples??

Can anyone recommend me some stuff that's riffy, yet still brutal? Talkin' in the vein of Wretched, Sophicide, Slice the Cake, or these dudes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsTvHJ1yjE0 Stuff that's got some old school flavor, and is just angry as gently caress would be great. I don't mind the odd djent/space out section, either. Gravybong fucked around with this message at 00:45 on May 22, 2013 |
