I'm a big fan of the darker more abstract stuff too (thought I was the only one here). There's alot of good artists that are mixing abstract/industrial elements with techno right now:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yj5WBGt7lk

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWJPzjBHsqM (and of course Silent Servant is the man.)

Edit: Lemme know if it's too much clutter and I can fix the links. Don't wanna slow down the page.

Thanks for the links, good stuff. That Milton Bradley is on some Clock DVA poo poo-- was sort of hoping for a big change to happen in the second half of the track, but it didn't suffer for it. The Violetshaped I think I'm going to have to buy-- the Vatican Shadow mix on that 12" popped up in related videos and it was great.

I think I've mentioned it before in this thread but Subsekt.com is really good for techno, especially the darker, abstract stuff mentioned a few posts above.

This is good stuff (and most appreciated dude :D). Is this a newer Kompakt release?

Just got this 12" in the mail the other day and I really like the fact that it's hard hitting but still kinda upbeat:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVlOLiIiQJA

Also, I am so pissed that I didn't get my hands on this Regis 12" while I had the chance (only 300 copies). I know there are other variatioins of this track, but I'll still probably end up dropping a ridiculous amount of money to get a mint copy, because I'm a sucker.

Glad you dug it. Alot of Milton Bradley's tracks sort of just have a flow without a breakdown and build-up in the middle (he has some tracks that are like 10+ minutes long), but I absolutely love the textures and sounds he uses. And that Violetshaped remix EP is definitely worth buying if you can find a copy. There's actually a new Violetshaped record that literally just came out and I am all over it.

Not really a forum but I like going to #electronic on irc.emp.cx , they usually have some good techno sets going on as well.

Also if you haven't listened to the latest Ben Sims CLR podcast, get on it! Great style as usual.

WHAT YOU SAY
Hell yes. Tracklist looks great, Motion The Dance by Untold is one of my favourite tracks and I'm glad it's still making its rounds in mixes.

I'm pretty stoked to see Silent Servant and Rrose at DEMF.

Perc has a new label for no bullshit dance floor tracks. The first release is a track I've been hearing quite a bit, looking forward to future releases.

Saw him a couple months ago, it got to the point of being really grating - the soundsystem was piss and he shredded it to bits (literally).

The answer is, mate, because I want to do you slowly. There has to be a bit of sport in this for all of us. In the psychological battle stakes, we are stripped down and ready to go. I want to see those ashen-faced performances; I want more of them. I want to be encouraged. I want to see you squirm.
Maceo Plex is a whinging crybaby, but I'm surprised that's news to anyone? I really rate Nina Kraviz and can't wait to see her out here next month! She's playing a rooftop party at Red Bull's Sydney HQ which should be off the hook.

In other news, Marcelo Vasami has been killing it lately. Check out this poo poo:

Love that South American prog sound, very Hernan Cattaneo/Martin Garcia-esque.
