That would probably be considered straight up techno and released on 1605 today, sort of the really synthy-techno that Umek is big on

edit: remember when trance didn't suck and progressive stuff actually existed and was dark and poo poo, those were the days

^^ I bought that off Beatport when I was in my funky techno phase

Yeah I have a lot old GUs, including the one with that track. The Nubreeds and Transport series were pretty good also. Transport 5 might be the sickest comp I've heard. Sander's EM was probably my favorite EM of that era, now he plays some sort of poo poo house or whatever. Moshic and Zidan had one in Feb. 2003 I think that was pretty great as well. I wonder what happened to those guys.

The answer is, mate, because I want to do you slowly. There has to be a bit of sport in this for all of us. In the psychological battle stakes, we are stripped down and ready to go. I want to see those ashen-faced performances; I want more of them. I want to be encouraged. I want to see you squirm.

Man, I remember when Paul van Dyk used to hammer this tune :corsair:

Some of my friends still listen to trance (Armin, Above & Beyond, W&W, Dash Berlin etc) and it's just such rubbish. Almost makes me embarrassed to admit that 1999-era trance got me into dance music.

And if we're posting tech-trance, this stormer was one of my absolute favourites: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=736kJbdGCYc

DJG made some solid as hell music on voids one and two, and if you never listened they're smooth chill down tempo little numbers.

He just released voids three and I really dig it. Not all of it is house but "bury the blade" might interest a few of you.

I'm gonna see him next week at an itty bitty lil venue. I'm really excited, I haven't had a "non big name guy that you really dig" style show in a while

I'll be at demf with a bunch of friends. I think we are going to Perc on the Friday and I don't think we decided on the other parties yet. Going to see what unofficial parties are going on first. Last year I just got a stack of flyers the day of and we just sort of decided.

I'm crossing my fingers for a Sandwell District after party :)

I sincerely doubt learning even just the basics on an academic level is NOT massively helpful.

Im' learning stuff today, after 12 years that I'd probably pick up in the first week - first semester.

On the other hand, there is so much free information on the internet that I'm not sure that its worth paying for the eduction. I suppose its different if you are in college and your school offers these courses anyway, but for the average person to pay for one of these audio engineering classes doesn't necessarily seem worth it.
