I couldn't wait and looked at the spoiler pics for this weeks chapter. This arc just keeps getting more and more amazing. Its the best large scale battle in any manga I've read. Even better than the battle to rescue Ace in One Piece.

Chapter 230

Just when it seems all hope is lost, ZEBRA TO THE RESCUE. I wonder if after this is all said and done, the IGO will have enough powerful people left over to maintain order? Or will it just be all "Let's just send everybody left into the gourmet world and get God before the other 2 group, the human world can fend for itself."

Wow glad I checked this before I went to bed. I'll read it again tomorrow to be sure but I'm a tad confused on who all has defected from the IGO, and who all were killed at the round table. Still and epic chapter and Zebra never ever ever disappoints.

Holy gently caress, that attack by Zebra at the end.

ZEBRA... IS... THE DEATH SOUND Man, the villains are getting surprisingly nice sendoffs for the horrible ways they're being killed. Tommyrod had a smile on his face as he was horribly eaten alive, and now this guy gets electrocuted until he disintegrates but is told "hey you're not ugly" beforehand. Our horrible murderer protagonists are being surprisingly respectful to their even-more-horrible murderer victims. Also Zebra's beast aura thing looks silly in its grim reaper outfit. It's just so happy to have that sheet draped over its head.

This chapter... man, so much happened. I think this arc along is making Toriko shoot up my best manga list.

I can't decide if the half-shaven guy's defection is more surprising than the vice president's. Zebra is such a badass even the Nitro took notice. And the connection to Buranchi is a lot clearer

I don't know how they were able to distinguish those three guys from the undetailed panels that were shown, but whatever; they didn't seem that important anyway.

Match is present at the Chef Festival, and his face isn't scarred up like Match's. Not that it is a big surprise, but I'm calling Zaus to be a bitch and kill Setsunon before too long. I'm also wondering if anyone realizes that there might be a foreshadowing of events between Toriko and Starjyun from Chapter 170 Toriko never disappoints me.

It seems like the human world is going to be left pretty hosed. The IGO is destroyed. It's best chefs have been kidnapped. The most powerful guys who could save them are off fighting level 500 radishes in the Gourmet World. And who even knows what the gently caress the new group of guys are up to... aside from just murdering the poo poo out of everyone. I now want to see a capture level 500 radish.

I don't see the human world being hosed as much as i see it just being ignored and the story moving into the gourmet world. At a certain point, everyone will be powered up to the point where outside of the occasional rare food, nothing in the human world will matter too much.

I mean it more in the sense of having no IGO to control the flow of foods, to regulate over-hunting, or to pop in should some city destroying pumpkin comes rolling along. But yeah, obviously the story will leave the Human World behind eventually here and the concerns of one hundred billion people dying horribly will be in the past.

Chapter 144 and Chapter 170 for references, though I might just be looking too far into something that isn't actually there

Komatsu makes the point that all the of food information is well detailed and documented. It isn't hard to assume that Toriko saw Starjyun's name or something that was an identifier of Starjyun. How or why Starjyun hasn't come back to the casino to reclaim it is anyones guess. It is possible he doesn't remember that he bet a memory and lost, or it could be something far more sinister.

His voice has more range for Toriko's reactions. I wish to punch Josh Grelle for ruining english Komatsu.
