I hope this isn't considered a troll or whatever but I just really don't like this song very much. It's kind of catchy but the vocals are bad and the guitar and bass are nothing spectacular, just catchy and good hooks that more certainly could've been done with. I really wanted to like it too, and bought the MP3 of the single.

There really isn't even a hint of "modern" electronica to the entire song with the exception of some background computery crossfades towards the end. Not many people liked Abba, Blondie, and the Bee Gees at the end of the disco era. I did, so I loved every second of this. I feel so old.

Um the vocoders and the very DP hi-hat section with the vocoders? I've got no qualms with it being call disco or sounding like Jamiroquai (because Jamiroquai is one of my favs) but I totally buy the idea that this is Daft Punk doing their thing within the realm of actual studio recording.

I like the song. But then again I like Pharrell. I do think it is very noticeably un-electronic sounding, consequently my favorite part is when the vocoder voice starts singing. I don't mind having an album full of disco-ey stuff but I hope there are some vocal-less or at least less prominent vocals for me to groove to throughout.

Discovery really is a "top 5 all time" level album. Not a single dud out of 14 tracks. The best reaction I've seen to Get Lucky so far is some commentor proclaiming "They've become 'The Crescendolls!'" Going full ensemble disco-funk seems to me like the natural progression from Discovery.

Here's some vocoder from 1970, just because Bruce Haack is loving crazy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BR0jr7bs9Bk Also, with regard to all of the complaints of Pharrell's voice, has anyone really been far even as decided to consider that Daft Punk's refusal to auto-tune or otherwise correct the take is a statement of contrast between what we've all been trained to think sounds correct, and that Pharrell is *gasp* human after all? Just a little musing that a friend and I had earlier tonight... That being said, if the Michael Jackson sound is what they were going for, they would have picked Bruno Mars. And yet they did not...
