I think this also makes an absolutely phenomenal case for full-face helmets. Look at the damage to his body, the damage to his helmet, and then his completely uninjured smiling face. Remember that guy a couple months ago who posted about his cousin who got massive brain damage crashing without a helmet at 60, and said "well at those speeds a helmet wouldn't have mattered anyway"? Yerp.

I am absolutely sure that helmet saved his life. Shame he wasn't ATGATT, but you can be drat sure he will be in the future!

Err, were you the dude on a green Ninja I said hello to near some reservoir thing? Seriously, that is the exact same bike, can't remember what you looked like though. I was with my friend, red Bandit 650 and white CBF 125.

The most outrageous part about this is the tiedown points on the bike include a coolant hose and a mangled handlebar.

drat. I'm actually surprised the speed of that collision didn't do more damage to the sedan.

I'm wondering if lanesplitting will ever get to the point where just like we have speed limit and construction signs, we'll have signs on the left side of the highway that say "watch and move over for filtering motorcyclists // $XX fine".

Santa Cruz and San Jose have lit signs that already say "share the road" but it's so vague that I think most people don't understand what they're saying. I mean even as a motorcyclist it took me a minute to figure it out after my nth drive past them.

The ebay listing has the full list of upgrades, the sound is incredible. We also have slash-cut scrambler pipes that we're going to put on for the 'legit' shoot in a few days. I'll get some more detail shots tomorrow.

I took a video on my phone, but the air compressor kicked in as he took off for the first test drive. Here's the ebay sale video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCOexY2xbtg

And here's my bike, an all-original CB400F, save for a megaphone exhaust. I used the funds from my ex's left-behind furniture to get it back on the road, this winter I'll probably tear it down and rebuild everything. Living well is the best revenge.

oh gently caress yes. what's up cb400f buddy?

yes, I am ashamed of the bikes condition. Previous owners can really suck, but $300 for a running cb400f is a fantastic deal.
If you want the stock muffler then you can have it. It's in great shape. I'm gonna get a shorty reverse megaphone.
I don't suppose you have a spare airbox do you?

I (luckily) got funds back from my gf's engagement ring and bought the aforementioned CBR600 F3 and a VFR800 to ride the poo poo out of.

red19fire
May 26, 2010

Maybe next year when I rebuild it, I should be able to figure out how to delete the airbox. The filter>carb thing is mushy plastic, I don't think it's even seated properly on #2 and 3. My problem is all the electrics bolted to that airbox, so I'll have to figure out how to relocate everything under the side covers if I do.

It's also worth more in stock form; if I start taking all the crap off it loses value, so if I drop it or break a bunch of stuff, then I'll start doing real customizing.

Did you delete your turn signals entirely? I want to at least swap in some small LED's, but the front signals bolt to the headlight, and to speedo brackets, AND to some piece involved with the disc brake line. So I feel like I'd have to redo the entire front electrical system just to put in some non-obnoxious turn signals. But I also don't know poo poo about motorcycles.

Has anyone ever put in this simplified 'chopper' wiring system? The CB400f has five fuses, I feel like it's needlessly complicated.

Yeah I've heard they're pretty garbage from the box, takes a bit to make it a better bike.
I wouldn't know how they ride though, dealers here just never have one on the floor but plenty of the cruisers etc...

Can't view your video "blocked by EMI" but this one is good too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unaRkye1OBk

But yeah the power output is pretty poor, even less than my 700GS.

Haha no it wasn't me, afraid the Ninja has been tucked away in the garage for the past 12 months while I have been tormenting the locals with the KTM Supermoto.
