There's a quarry to the northwest of Gran Soren. Talk to the dude outside, agree to kill Ogres in the quarry for him. Do so, he moves into the quarry and will sell good poo poo including the Berserk stuff.

There's a quarry that's a sort of shortcut between the Shadowfort and the area near Gran Soren. On the Gran Soren-ish side of the quarry (there are cut rocks and things), there's a merchant who has a quest and ask you to clear out all the Ogres and open the doors in the quarry. When you complete it, he moves into a resting room in the cave, and will sell the Berserk gear.

You do but the DLC area is really big and composed of a couple of dungeons-within-dungeons, and you ought to be able to get as far as the second NPC by level 15-20, and he's in a huge open room with tons of hidden treasure chests and no enemies at all.

Also some rooms don't always have the exact same enemies in them each time you go in. One time I went in this big boss arena and it had 2 Scrub tier normal Chimeras, the next time I went it it had a drat Beholder so I'm pretty sure if the dungeon is throwing stuff at you you just can't handle you can go outside and sleep until it feels like spawning killable things.

Edit: Honestly it really feels like you weren't meant to do the dungeon all in one go. Just show up and hang around until you hit a meatwall of unkillable enemies and then go use all the cool poo poo you got to destroy the main quest until you feel like hopping back in stronger.

Also, you know how you can play Catch the Pig with your pawns by throwing around a pig? Well apparently it works with spiders too. No he's updated nothing as far as I can tell.

He updated with a few pieces of armor and such that you can also get from Bitterblack Items. These items are not as good as what you could get from Lv.3 purification though.

BBI Woes: Are all the monsters that spawn when there's corpses around (Elder Ogres, those dogs) immune to arrows or something? I'm a Ranger and I can't seem to damage them with my bow. I was doing okay since I'm using Nahxela's and Troffen's super high level pawns but now the third stratum is kicking my rear end. I got to a room with two chained gorecyclopses and three of those dark carrion dog things spawned :stare:

I don't know if that's intentional or not but I had to run down a hall and cheese them on a ledge with my pitiful damage bow and the high level pawns. Now I'm wondering how much more painful BBI would be with pubby pawns at my level that aren't armed to the teeth with bad inclinations. I've gotten a couple of gear upgrades for me and my pawn at least and every dragon I've fought in BBI has given me a forge.

I asked this before release and now that people have had a chance to play DA, I'm curious about performance of the game on each platform. Did performance increase on 360/PS3 compared to vanilla DD? Also, is there a platform that seems to have better overall performance? I've been burned on buying for the wrong platform in the past, so I just want to be sure I make the right choice.

Elder Ogres and Garms (the giant dogs) are both weak to lightning. Get a pawn to enchant your bow and you'll be in much better shape against them. Magick Archer's Ricochet Hunter or the Fulmination sorcery will make quick work of them too.

Also Troffen your guy was pretty cool but he became a statue. We ran into two liches that just spammed petrification over and over and eventually I ran out of curatives for it.

I've been trying to cycle through Goon pawns. Some of the lower level ones get into trouble too far down Bitterblack, so I may make some side-trips out into the regular world with them for some good ol' fashioned quests so they don't get utterly annihilated by whatever's attacking. After I go through one more time again(I'm about to face the end boss a second time soon) and get my loots(Does anyone know if there are Hellfire Gauntlets?), I'll be heading back out into the world a bit to go see where some of the new monsters are. Then I can take some lower-levels with me again for old times sake.

Btw-can anyone confirm if that Drake near the Shadow Fort is the new Super Drake now or did they leave that one alone? I heard they plugged some of the harder dragons around the world, but I'm wondering where. Once I get the Hellfire Cloak I think I'm going to start hitting up some dragons with my main as a plate class so I can get them Dragonforged properly for my pawn. (I'm asking mainly since if it's the Super drake, I'm going in as a Mystic Knight with Ice Cannon and cheesing that poo poo shamelessly.)

I believe all the new monsters can only be encountered on Bitterblack Isle, Gran Soren has been left untouched minus the new equipment.

It looks like most of the DLC monsters only show up when you take on the appropriate notice board quests (from the top of Bitterblack, the Warrior's Respite, and the Arisen's Respite rooms, the places where you find Barroch and the resting benches). For instance, there's a Dire Drake in the Everfall (post game), a Dire Wyrm in the Water God's Altar, and a Dire Wyvern on top of Bluemoon Tower, but those seemed to only appear when I took on the relevant quest. The latter two are probably also post game only, and replace the regular ones that would otherwise normally appear.

Notinghamington posted:

Nah, you can definitely encounter DLC monsters outside of Bitterblack. I'm pretty sure you have to take on the aforementioned quests, though.
I think there's an Eliminator and Pyre Saurians in the Tainted Mountain, Goblin Shamans in the first part of Witchwood, Silver/Gold Knights before post-game Everfall (pregame Everfall?), a small Gorecyclops in Soulflayer (in place of the regular one), one or two Living Armors in the Catacombs, and two large Gorecyclopses in Shadowfort.

Has there been talk of peoples saves being corrupted / erased? A friend's friend just reported that happening to him. Not sure if it was 360 or PS3, however.

Unrelated: I'm starting a new file, myself, and I was curious as to what powerful weapons can be gotten early and easily. I've beaten the game once, so I remember the location of a couple.

The Obliteratrix is worth almost 40k and can be quickly gotten from the ancient quarry, if you can handle a mess of warrior and mage bandits guarding it. At 177 attack power, it's quite formidable for an early character. The bandits make it a little tricky to grab, however; as a level 12 warrior with a trusty sword, I could barely make anything in there stagger.

I'm wondering what else I could snatch early by running somewhere unexpected and evading / slowly fighting my way through things at a low level. A nice sword and staff would be ideal, but I can't remember where any fixed ones are.
