First nobody even posted the best Lupe track but w/e. I used to stick up for him but Lazers was straight garbage (the only decent songs got cut from the official release, although i think they added them later as bonus tracks) and outside of Lamborghini Angels his last album was largely garbage. Dude's still ok lyrically when he wants to be, but his production choices are veering into Ras Kass/Canibus territory. Also DOOM's my fav rapper of all time, and I'd consider everything he did outside of that JJ Doom project really good to amazing. The Danger Doom album is kinda junk at first, until you realize that he's loving making some dope sounding raps about cornball poo poo and it's like "this dude can literally rap about anything" (he pretty much says as much on "vats of urine"). Born Like This was super good but it kinda came from nowhere after he had dropped off the face of the earth. Also he handled most of the production which on one hand is good because his production is nice but sucked if you were a fan of his since it was all special herbs stuff that's been out since around 2000, so it sounded more like a mixtape even though a lot of those beats hadn't been rapped over before. And as for Madvillainy 2, I remember a couple years ago or so there was some snippets that leaked of new stuff in a dj show one of the stones throw dudes did. But from everything I've heard DOOM's been super flaky in terms of not just his shows, but producing new material so I have no idea. He's had tons of projects where there's been a track or two that have just been abandoned or disappeared, even going back to the days when he was dropping material constantly.

That's because Touch the Sky doesn't actually belong to him I think a lot of people have slept on his last album because I enjoy it much more than any of his others (excluding The Cool). He has never fallen off lyrically, and his production choices are decent too. Again, I think the whole situation with Lasers has created such a bad connotation with him that most people will always have negative opinions of whatever he's done (or will do).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madvillainy_2 Madvillainy 2 came out sorta but this was remixes and unreleased stuff. The remixes are pretty good because the songs sound pretty different than the originals. But a new new album from Madlib and Doom is still in the pipes. If you are in the loop, you probably already heard most of the new tracks off that. The only thing that truly sucks about Doom is his b-sides and one-off songs. The compilations people make are usually doo-doo. But his commercial albums are pretty good. One of the new songs on Madvil 2 that I liked and hadn't heard til then. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BybAOMESs0 Profondo Rosso posted:Doom is amazing, does anyone who listens to rap music actually think otherwise

Re: Madvillainy 2 remix thing Temple was just talking about, it is on Spotify if anyone is interested: http://open.spotify.com/album/6FakjnEXCCCIoYQGgv8rTf I kinda wish Doom would just stick to one name if only so that he'd be easier to search for. Anyway, my favorites from him are all on Spotify. If you like music but don't have Spotify then what the gently caress are you doing with your life: Take Me To Your Leader Vaudeville Villain Operation: Doomsday And of course, Madvillainy which has already been mentioned a lot. edit: EATIN SHRIMP posted:Me. I'm not a huge fan of Mm Food either and Madvillainy is not as accessible (ie. for the non-fan) as some of his other stuff imho. Vaudeville Villain is probably the easiest to get into. My favorite tracks from it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjrNroBgJ3A - Dead Mouse https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Nmi0Vz2Wj8 - GMC https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGH4DlrWJa0 - Modern Day Mugging https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWJ9Nq1lXv8 - Lactose and Lecithin Production is dope as poo poo on these (although not Doom produced). thathonkey fucked around with this message at 00:07 on May 3, 2013 |

Weird new Busta Rhymes produced by Pharell - Twerk It. Da gently caress is he doing? I know he has Jamaican heritage or whatever but since when does he "rap" in a full accent? Full version of the Jay-Z song from the Gatsby OST - $100 Bill. Pretty standard late era Jay-Z fare here but I kinda like it and am curious to see how it fits during the movie. Beat is pretty slick.

JAY Z (no hyphen, all caps) seems to be (as he always is) in the midst of some rebranding as the guy who names songs in the most obnoxious manner possible (a trend started by the ri ri track "Loveeeeeee Song") The Gatsby OST version of back to black is a terrible cover of Hollywood Holt's (no name guy out of chicago who runs with kanye's dj Million$Mano and whose only real claim to fame is that seizure-dougie dance kanye does in the "N****s in Paris" video) superior reworking. https://soundcloud.com/search?q=steve%20holt%20back%20to%20black
