Physical mirrors are pretty cheap at the Casino, IIRC. They're 50 coins a pop, I think.

OH poo poo. I assumed that if you were to be able to buy physical mirrors, they'd be in the pharmacy. Discovering that they weren't there lead me to believe that you couldn't buy them, which left me in despair. But now my day is made. Thanks. Actually, real quick, I was just watching footage of Raido and Raidou fights, and the player had their demons with 999 health. How do you raise demons stats? I was under the impression that you couldn't use incenses on them.

Elementals are created by fusing together two demons of the same race.

You can't use incenses, but you can fuse mitamas to raise stats. There are four different kinds of mitamas: Nigi, Ara, Saki, and Kusi. Each mitama will raise two stats when fused. Nigi: Agility and Int, Ara: Strength and Endurance, Saki: Hp and Luck, and Kusi: Mp and Magic. You need to fuse at least two elementals together to create the mitamas. You create elementals by fusing two demons of the same family together. I may have sperged out trying to figure out the cheapest way to get them, so here's what I did to get each. For Sylph, fusing two Yomas seemed to be the cheapest. Two fairies gives you Undine, and two Jirae gives you Gnome. Salamander is the last elemental, and the cheapest I could find was fusing two Avatars, making it really fairly expensive. So for fusing the different Mitamas, the best path is: Nigi: Undine + Gnome Ara: Undine + Salamander Saki: Undine + Sylph + Salamander Kusi: Undine + Sylph + Gnome I did this to max out Metatron and a few other demons' stats to make them significantly more powerful. Edit: These costs are cheapest assuming you're using the lowest ranked demons from each family. You can rank down demons by fusing a family with one of the elementals (which one leads to rank down versus rank up depends on the demon's family). If you don't have the lowest ones from each family, I'd do that first or try to recruit them from the areas they spawn in. Kagon fucked around with this message at 05:07 on May 11, 2013 |

Then again, the other bosses better be piss easy if you have to fight them all again everyone time you leave and come back. With the said, I should probably grind more. I figured I'd fight the bosses with the time stones again, but I'm once again stuck on King Frost. MC and Nemissa have an AG at 20, but that doesn't stop his suicide attack. I would just use a physical mirror like last time, but I don't have any physical mirrors. My demon with tetrakarn has an AG of 16, with doesn't beat out the boss's, and I can't just keep using Heaven's Judgment or whatever from Metatron or Vishnu because the boss's suicide attack beats out their AG. Do I have to just grind with finder's keepers until I get a physical mirror, do I have to hide the MC behind everyone and hope he isn't slaughtered, or what? I believe you can get physical mirrors from the casino. Once you master Vs. Poker, you can buy up almost all the lower-coin prizes with no problem.

Thanks for the mitama information earlier. Sorry for being so needy, but I have another question: where's the Masakado Helm in Soul Hackers. That's the only piece of the Masakado set I'm missing. Edit: I was able to defeat The Devil Summoner MC and Radio's demons, however, the Radiou double-team overwhelmed me. Raidou speaks, help, I'm fangasming so hard right now. Outside of hoping that Last Resort just misses the MC, your only options are to grind (for either higher Agi or enough cash to get Physical Mirrors), or fuse a demon that's fast enough to out-speed it (Kartikeya or using Mitama fusions on the demon you already have to boost agi).

After a good chunk of inner turmoil (mostly reserved to keeping myself away from playing Strange Journey again ), I think I'm going to go into SMT4 blind. I kinda want to feel the same sense of dread that I had when I first dived into this series. Break it to me, fellows: How are you preparing for the time when IV comes into the fold?

So I'm kinda just getting into this series... I'm playing through Overclocked on my 3DS and a translated SMT1 ROM via ZSNES, and oh boy these games are weird. In SMT I fused my dog with a gnome-looking demon and got an uber demon dog named Cerberus, bribed a winged demon guy with money and demon money to join me, acted like a pussy to get a goblin to join me, and threatened an ostrich demon who gave me ¥500 and ran off. I'm preordering SMTIV when I get my next paycheck for sure.

Yeah, that'll happen. Make sure you're using the bugfixed version of the SMT1 patch: the first version has major bugs that make one of the three ending routes unfinishable.

Cool Ghost posted:Is it just the English patched SMT that has problems with ZSNES, or does the Japanese ROM need SNES9X too? ZSNES has compatibility problems in general so you're better off with another emulator. If you can read Japanese I'd skip the English patch altogether and play version 1.1 of SMT1. Or the PSX/GBA version for that matter. Version 1.0 was plagued with horrible game-breaking bugs even in the Japanese version, and that's the one that the English patch works on. Some of the complaints about the English patch actually come from that--they're not the fault of the patch per se but problems that were in the initial game.

Is there anyway to gently caress up getting the True Demon Ending in Nocturne? Like, can I miss a fiend battle and screw myself over?
|
# ? May 13, 2013 02:37 |

If I recall correctly, the only way to screw up getting the True Demon ending is to tell old man Lucifer to shove off after beating the 5th Kalpa boss. Edit: After looking at the guide again, you have to lock yourself into the True Demon ending before entering the final dungeon (that means taking the elevator down to the 5th Kalpa after the boss). There is no way to miss a fiend either. (Whoa, made this initial edit at the same time Genpei Turtle posted; basically, he's 100% correct) MechaX fucked around with this message at 03:40 on May 13, 2013 |

So they remade Persona 3 twice, Persona 4 once, some of the DS games are getting 3DS ports... at this point it's pretty much impossible they'll do ports for the older PS2 games right? I wanna play Nocturne on PCSX2 but there are some weird glitches with that game specifically on it. Nothing gamebreaking I think, just graphical stuff looking wrong. Edit: Also savestates make some of the cheaper deaths less annoying
