That's one of the few times in my life I have ever envied Tony Schiavone. (I kid, dude may have been phoning it in near the end of WCW, but I would have loved to have been one of the main "interview guys" for the NWA's flagship program back in the day)

He never wrestled in WWE again, and that's good enough for me (or rather, as good as I could hope for from Ric Flair). It was a hell of a send-off from the company, that match and his retirement special the next night was incredible.

And I always loved the design of the WWF tag titles from the 1980s: I love me some rasslin' title belts

I had a thought that maybe the first big title you see when you started watching is the one you like the most, but I'm sure there's plenty exceptions to that. I thought about it because my favorite belt is and probably will always be the AE WWF title belt:

They either need to design a new logo, or else go back to the good old one we all know and love: Even if they went with the "WW" variant of that, it'd still be better than continuing to use the "scratch" logo.

The new Right Coast Pro belt done by Top Rope Belts is one of the most elegant I've ever seen. Kind of a weird fit when you check out RCP's website and their roster and all though, but still.

Sydney Bottocks posted:I don't think so, though the evidence (apparently we're both fans of wrestling, Doctor Who, and Rik Mayall) is pretty staggering Hell yeah Even the NWA heavyweight title belt design was pretty popular, I know they used that same style for the NWA US title for a bit and even those WCCW tag belts used it. I'd guess it was more of a cost measure, probably wasn't cheap to get a custom belt done back then so it was easier to use an already established "template" for an existing one (especially if they only had a limited number of people/companies to make the belts). Still love how those dual-plated designs look, like the WWF tag and Hogan 86 with the gold and silver. I remember Hogan and Savage both had versions of the later Reggie Parks eagle belt done in gold and silver, and it looked pretty sweet compared to the all-gold version: Even the original "big gold" NWA heavyweight looked gorgeous with dual-plate
