Well, it's over now. I mean are you saying that it's better than the best of X-men: Evolution, Spectacular Spider-Man, and the first season of Earth's Mightiest Heroes or that it's better than Ultimate Spider-Man?

Just better than the other current shows - I guess I thought there was more than just Ultimate Spider-Man. I'm not expecting much from the other Loeb shoes either. Evolution, Spectacular, EMH, WatXM are all better than Armored Adventures, but it's a good enough show if you can forgive the "Teenage Tony" premise.

What I can't forgive is the dodgy CG cel-shaded animation. It reminds me of that heinous MTV Spider-man cartoon. Also it looks like poo poo.

I almost forgot the fist season was kinda Iron-man and the west-coast avengers. Which is weird because I remember the season one finale where Tony fakes his death and everyone is all "You're a dick we're out!" it was probably the first time I saw repercussions for that recurring cartoon plot thread.

Oh poo poo, I remember both of these as the Marvel Action Hour, and how insanely hardcore good their season 2 makeovers were. I don't know what the hell was going on in those bizarre first seasons, but drat did they get so much better in the second.

Here's the Fantastic Four's season 2 intro, which just recreates a bunch of classic FF covers to heroic fanfare:

Yeah, the Marvel Action Hour, the X-men cartoon and later the Spider-man cartoon were basically my childhood. It made me incredibly excited when I realized that the shows all shared continuity. I already knew all these characters from reading a bunch of old comics I got... from somewhere... including some huge collections of black and white Marvel comics that were apparently sold in a monthly format in France. (Imagine that, getting caught up on all your superhero stuff in one huge brick of a comic per month) Anyway, I already knew all these characters and seeing them get a bunch of connected cartoons made me really excited.

I didn't have cable and none of my local stations aired the Batman cartoon, so as far as I was concerned, these were the best superhero cartoons ever made. I loved Stan Lee hosting the Marvel Action Hour. :allears:

Season 2 of the 90s Iron Man is pretty loving awesome but the first season is complete garbage. What I read somewhere was that some guy who never read the comics did season 1 and season 2, they cleaned house and put people familiar with the characters on staff. Same thing happened with the FF cartoon as well.

X-Men and Spider-Man have aged absolutely horribly, but the voice acting is probably pretty iconic for anyone in their mid 20s to early 30s nowadays.

I'm still kind of hoping the "I! AM! IRON mAN *hammer sound*" theme song makes its way into an Iron Man movie someday.

You're right, I wasn't taking that into account. That intro alone is enough to mark that as the best animated Iron Man rendition.

On the face of it, it seems like such ridiculous 90's XXXTREME nonsense. Your first thought is "This is so absurd. Are they suggesting he would really spend billions of dollars to create some insane mechanical prosthesis just so he can personally hand-forge his armor with a hammer and anvil? And even if he did, why is he doing it with his shirt off?"

But then you realize it's Tony Goddamn Stark, and that's exactly what he would do, and in fact it's impossible to imagine him doing it any other way.

I kind of love those shows when they'd just randomly throw other characters in montages like that, just Doom's ominpotent, so here he is owning the Avengers and blowing up the X-Men's Blackbird. I think the X-Men show had an episode where the villain was causing calamity worldwide (Dark Phoenix, maybe?) and just randomly Black Knight and Captain Britain are shown flying over London.

Ghost Rider should randomly show up in all Marvel shows to beat the big villains and drive away.

I think that's going a little into over reaction as the premise might be "Rick Jones tries to sell the world on hulk being an ok guy by taking a look at his every day life" but it does baffle me a little.
