poo poo, I didn't get to see the episode when it aired so I'm watching the videos of the two songs on Dailymotion. Black Skinhead is off the loving chain, Yeezus Christ  That one easily surpasses some of the stuff on MBDTF. And New Slaves sounds way better than it did projected on a building wall. The bass is nuts and the visuals are crazy for this as well. This has me way too hyped for the album

Both songs he played on SNL tonight were spectacular. Very very grindy and rough. I like how New Slaves goes nuts halfway into it.

There's that presumably intentional error, the Inglorious Basterds reference at the end about how Hitler died in a burning theatre which obviously isn't how it actually happened, his King Kong reference at the start. Almost the entire song is full of stuff like that. "They say I'm possessed", "If I don't get ran down by Catholics / Here come some some conservative Baptists / Sayin' me overreacting", "I been a menace for the longest / And I ain't finished, I'm devoted", almost that entire last verse is all about how he's aware of what he is to other people ("I'm aware I'm a wolf / As soon as the moon hits [I'm guessing this is referencing how Yeezy's quite the opportunist when it comes to the media]/ I'm aware I'm a king / Back out the tomb bitch") and how African-Americans are treated by the media "These niggas ain't doin' poo poo".

Holy poo poo, both of those songs are amazing. Black Skinheads had me  the entire time and New Slaves sounded much better than I expected it would (since we only had cell phone video before). I cannot wait for this album.

I hope "Black Skinhead" has slightly less vocal distortion on the album version. Other than that, it's great. That "beat" is the most disturbing thing I've got stuck in my head since I listened to death metal in high school.

I wouldn't count on it. Kanye has been in love with those overly hot/distorted vocals ever since MBDTF. I'm not really a fan because it makes the songs sound more lo-fi than they are but I think that effect is going to be very prominent on this new album too. I guess it works with the "I'm so angry and I must yell everything" vibe that he is goin for...
