The lack of an intro past BRAND NAME CARTOON NAME seems to be the new Marvel animation "thing". I'm going to wager a billion space dollars that the new Hulk cartoon does this as well.
I also want to throw in with the crowd that thinks that this show is bad and they should feel bad. I was totally geared up for this show and I lost interest 15 minutes in. IN fact, I was surprised that only 15 minutes had passed, I thought for sure I had been watching it for a full thirty minutes/hundred years.

Just watched the first Avengers Assemble episode and yep, really bad.

The guy who voices Iron Man is HORRID. He delivers this line "Change of plan guys. Looks like someone will have to avenge us." so monotone and without emotion considering he thinks he's about to die.

Even MTV Spiderman had a way better opening than it deserved, and the 80's X-Men pilot had such a good theme that it should've been enough to get the series picked up on its own. I suppose Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends is the worst one I can think of, but it's still pretty darn good.

I didn't hate Avengers Assemble. I just felt like it was all a bunch of action and explosions. Which yeah, so was the Avengers film. But at least with the film, we're given several movies that go in-depth on most of the characters. Outside of the cameos of some of them in Ultimate Spider-Man, we're just thrown into this show and expected to know about all these guys already and care. That works for a comic book nerd like me, but I wonder if it'll work for the 8 year old kid who has only seen The Avengers film.

I did enjoy Thor and Hulk. Even though I groan every time Black Widow gets the "Is she a traitor?????" plot, I felt her character was pretty boring because she was just there. Hawkeye was pretty fun as well. I didn't enjoy Stark's voice acting, but hey, it could improve over time.

I love the Stan Lee narration that opens the X-Men pilot. I like to think that he just says that at random intervals as he goes about his business each day.

Falcon talked really strangely. It was like all his lines were written without punctuation or suggestion. I think he was supposed to sound quick and witty, but instead he just sounded like he was on a commercial for Micro Machines. I couldn't stand Avengers Assemble, and it just feels redundant after EMH. At least they didn't start it with origin stories for everybody again though; I don't think I need to see Cap become Cap yet again anytime soon.

Which yeah, so was the Avengers film.

I really don't agree with this. Yeah, a lot of the Avengers was action, but you actually got an idea of what most of the characters were like and it did a good job of building up its action and characters (For the most part). It had a clear cut villain who did a good job at pissing off the Avengers enough until they reached the boiling point where they finally realized they had to be a team for and AVENGE someone who died because they were being a bunch of shitheads. The first episode is none of that, it's especially bad since the first episode is one part of two episodes. So they had an entire episode to build their characters and give a good idea of what's in store for the next episode which should have the climax. But no, they wanted their first episode to have a climax too instead of using it to buildup the next episode, which is the point of two part episodes. Instead they spent the entire thing, THE ENTIRE THING, throwing around buzz words, having characters just do stuff for the sake of doing it, and making Tony Stark into the biggest dumbass possible despite the movies this spins off from showing him as a hypercompetent narcissistic rear end in a top hat. Most of the characters aren't even really characters, they do one thing through the whole episode, Stark says stuff, Hulk says smash a lot, Hawkeye cracks wise, Black Widow frowns, and Thor... is the only one who isn't a giant pain in the rear end. I'd say something about Cap, but he's barely in it.

And really even if you saw all of the movies, you would still have NO IDEA who Falcon was, in context of the show. They literally pull him out of the ether and we're expected to immediately accept him as one of the team just because Stark thinks he's cool. The show in general has no understanding of why people liked the Avengers movie, let alone what makes these characters appealing to people in the first place. Little kids didn't like Iron Man because he's in a robot suit, they liked because he was a really smart dude who said funny stuff ON TOP of being in a robot suit.

Counterpoint: Little kids totally like Iron Man because he has a robot suit, his personality/humor is icing on the cake. This was my logic as a kid.

Hell, Ultimate Spiderman not having a themesong is probably it's biggest mistake one of many major mistakes it's made.
