What other post did you do to this? It's not actually in all that much focus if you look at the original. Well, except for the post. The lighting comes from the sun poking through the clouds with a storm in the area.. it's pretty rare but makes some amazing light to shoot in.

Yeah definitely could of used another stop or two but I didn't want to push my ISO up (probably should have). Here is a jpeg conversion of the original file. Beware post demonstration by a scrub, follow at your own risk.  After Lightroom Adjustments  I Upped the color temp a hair. Bumped the exposure just a bit. Increased the contrast slider as the histogram was a little flat. Plus clarity and vibrance. Saturation was reduced on the grass and upped a bit on the orange on the pole and the blue in the sky. Luminance was increased in the yellow and orange channels, and decreased in the green and blue. This image was also split toned, just a little saturation in highlights in a warm orangish color. and less saturation in the shadows with a cool blue color. Sharpening and noise reduction where applied.  This was done in Color efex pro 4. filters used where pro contrast with 16% correct color cast and correct contrast. and 25% dynamic contrast. Also skylight filter with strength cut to just showing.  The last thing I did was create a new layer in photoshop and used the paint bucket to fill in a solid cream color. Changed the blend mode to exclusion and the opacity to 10%ish. I learned that trick in the Post thread, I use it quite a bit to give sort more of a filmish quality to my shots. Oh yeah and whenever there is a crazy storm in your area and it is about to break. The first thing you should do is grab your camera and go outside, it doesn't really matter where. Single coated 180mm Xenar in the fog with a sodium vapor light just outside the frame. I guess at the very least I learned to be careful pointing that lens at stuff.

 St Kilda pier today by Alex Gard, on Flickr They've been building a new pier or putting up a new breakwater or something near where I live, I wasn't expecting much but was surprised how the plastic casing around these pylons came out with a ten 10 stop ND. Think I'll try get down on a nice morning with some bay fog and an easterly or westerly wind for the clouds. Has anyone ever stacked two 10 stop filters on top of each other? is it common practice? I do. Never at night though because a 15 second bare exposure at 20stops is going to be an estimated 182day exposure. To make 20stops usable during the day you basically wanna stick to 1/500th (which is a 32min exposure) to 1/125 (which is 2hours roughly). For day use I tend to just use 10stops and pull my aperture down to f13-22 to kill light because thats the look I like. You could get a 14stop and that would turn 1/60th into about 4minutes. Also clean your filters, there are some round globs you need to fix in that image.

Can I get another set of eyes on this photo? I tend to edit as soon as I'm back from shooting, then upload publicly and immediately spot 10 things wrong. Haven't done much processing but wondering where its lacking that I could try to fix up. It feels a bit flat to me but I don't want to push the sky too far.
