The answer is, mate, because I want to do you slowly. There has to be a bit of sport in this for all of us. In the psychological battle stakes, we are stripped down and ready to go. I want to see those ashen-faced performances; I want more of them. I want to be encouraged. I want to see you squirm.

Looking back, I have no idea how we didn't see the joke :downs:

Never been to Belgium

The new album is so good, this has definitely been my favourite cut off it. I actually thought it was a bit more laid back compared to the last few, I wonder if that's the lack of Soma influence maybe?

Anyway it's hard enough though. The TBD revival over the past few years has been fantastic.

Damnit every year for the past ten years I forget DEMF is happening and end up missing it. St. Andrews is one of the best clubs ever. It's a cool setup, there are so many rooms and so much stuff going on all the time. In one night I saw Matthew Dear, Biosphere, Monolake and a dual Speedy J & Chris Liebing set, plus a bunch of other people not remembered.

Dvs1's set is must watch material, drumcell, truncate, rrose, brandon moeller all did good sets as well.

On a non-demf note, Rebekah's clr podcast this week is pretty great, wish there were more ladies layin down the law like that these days.

Saw Kraftwerk doing their 3D show at the Sydney Opera House the other night - what an amazing experience! The guys did their keyboards thing live on stage, while a huge backdrop behind them went crazy with 3D visuals.

After listening to the RA podcast for a year or so, here are my favorite sets:

351 - Truss/MPIA3
337 - Phase
334 - Danny Daze
332 - A Sagittariun
324 - Untold

I haven't been able to drudge up anything really great from their archive, any recommendations?

There are a lot of really great RA podcasts. If you like the more heady techno type stuff, then you'd probably like the recent Skudge podcast.

A few I would look in to:

135 - Dettman
201 - 19.454.18.5.25.5.18
257 - O/V/R
272 - Kassem Mosse
318 - Rrose
105 - Donato Dozzy
310 - Shifted

How did you like the Ron Morelli Christmas podcast? I really liked it a lot.

I think if you liked any of those podcasts, you should probably take a dig through the now-defunct mnml ssgs podcast archive as well here

I highly *HIGHLY* recommend this recording of Dozzy at Labyrinth in 2008 that the ssgs put out. To be honest, I think you'd like Donato Dozzy a lot. Maybe that's because he's one of my favorite DJs ever.

Dozzy @ Labyrinth (Japan) 2008

Yes it's really long (over 4 hours?!) But trust me, it's beyond worth it. I would start with that before any of the other RA podcasts. The ssgs podcasts on average are much more enjoyable than most RA podcasts, and I like most RA podcasts. You might also like the Little White Earbuds podcast, which is also a really quality podcast - I think both the ssgs podcast and the LWE podcast are on average much better than a lot of the RA podcasts, but that's probably because my tastes are more in line with LWE and the ssgs than RA, who has a wider net to cast.

I tend to go on Beatport and look at the labels my favourite artists have appeared on and go from there. It's always fun to just stick a track you know into Youtube and then sift through the related videos.

Friends mixes and charts, mostly. Follow a bunch of lesser-name DJs and producers you like on your social medium of choice and see what they're posting to RA and Beatport each month. Go down the rabbit hole of 'you may also like:' because it's real deep.

I usually start with sets from more well-known DJs, look through track listings and dig into producers and remixers that sound interesting, rinse and repeat.

For example my favourite DJ of the last few years is Henry Saiz, I first discovered him when Digweed played a few of his tracks and remixes on Kiss back in the day. From there I found Saiz's podcast, and the cycle started again.
