It's implied by him being "injured" but I'll need you to call out what's done, since I'm not familiar with that model (I can't tell what's part of the original sculpt).

I have done all these bastards. OATH COMPLETE. Did some lighting glow on the heavy weapons platform. Decided to try my first stencil/freehand on the Wave Serpent, wanted that feel for the As these pieces were asked for by my roommate, I didn't have the opporutunity to battle-damage something up this month. I'll have to get the Jurnal entry next month. Only wanted the Exarch to have one eye, with the whole Dire Sword thing going on. My camera skills suck and my lighting sucks too since I live/paint in an attic. Brock Samsonite fucked around with this message at 21:09 on Jun 27, 2013 |

Good on you both! As my Cryx army gets painted up I'm going to do a display board for them as well, something to have in the dining room I'm not going to bother doing one for my CSM army, though, because it's far to too big. (unless of course you're talking about the speed painting thingy) Yes I was going to say that a date is definitely NOT needed for the Oath Complete picture, unless you're going for the speed painting bonus point. Also, if you put your name in the picture (by writing it on a piece of paper like Fix did above, or by putting it in with a graphics editor) you get an extra point towards your total!

I, ChanceII, declare this Oath Complete! I painted some small arms damage on one of the Valkyries wings and chopped up some spare Eldar Falcon hulls to glue onto the bases for Battle Damage Detektuv's Journal. And I suppose I did the opposite of battle damage on the converted Thunderbolt by scraping off all the orky stuff and re-imperializing it. I don't if the size makes these guys qualify for Themed Group as they are painted in a Tallarn Army Scheme. If not, then no biggie. Also, I guess I'll submit this as my Get Based Out Entry since it used up the last of my Eldar wreckage. Backstory The 631st Tallarn Airwing fly some of the last of the Sabre pattern Thunderbolt assault jets, due to the age of the design and the the fall and subsequent looting of the the manufactoriums still producing the aircraft by Orks centuries ago. The 631st take great pride in their high kill to loss ratio and take particular pleasure whenever they down one of the bastardized jets fielded by the Orks. The Sabre Pattern Thunderbolt boasts a potent combination of speed, maneuverability, and fire power that meshes perfectly with the Tallarn battle doctrines of lightning strikes and rapid redeployment. Unfortunately, each time a Sabre is shot down, fewer and fewer return to the skies, causing the 631st to be much smaller than usual and forcing them to be used primarily for surgical strikes and fast escorts.

Well, I might as well preemptively declare my oath failed! Having spent the first half of the month on exams, and the last half of the month on work, I didn't really stand a chance of painting my (apparently) wildly optimistic oath of 7 whole models. Also, I should come to accept the fact that oathing doesn't fit my style of painting. I'm a total scatterbrain and need the freedom to paint half a model, leave it for a couple of weeks/months, and go paint some of my half-finished models from 3 months back. Also, I paint very slowly. So next month I'll probably oath the minimum amount of models just to keep oathing in order to keep track of the other oathers' fine work. Also, Pierre that board is awesome!

I saw a similar conversion linked in the 40k thread awhile back and it turns out that it is a pretty easy conversion. Just a little trimming and sanding and not being afraid to ruin the kit. Since the real thunderbolt is both triple the cost of the materials I used for the conversion (Ork dakka jet kit off ebay and Valkyrie cockpit bits) and a little old and boxy looking for my tastes, I'd rather field a squadron of Sabres over the real thing.

Oath Complete This is my boar chariot! It's Converted and has Battle Damage, as per this month's journal. This Stegadon's been through a rough time. It has wounds on its crest and belly that have been crudely stapled shut, and are purple with infection. It also has a spear lodged in its side that nobody dares to pull out. The new crew keep their dinosaur in line by feeding it from a barrel of magic mushrooms, but one of the many side-effects is that blue goop is running from its eyes, nostrils, gums, and open wounds. I don't have a before image of my oath, pre-conversion... this is the box art for the regular model. It's very different.

Edit: With little time before I head off for a mini-vacation, I'm going to go ahead and declare: OATH COMPLETE My themed group of Daemons of Tzeentch, lead by a mighty Herald. Sadly due to my last-minute timing on the rest of my models I wasn't able to get them based in time. Ah well. I got the display board in and that's good enough for me. Added some Battle Damage to a Pink Horror of Tzeentch--it's lost an arm to a spray of purified boltgun shells! Poor daemon. I rolled a 6!...or a 20...or maybe an 01 I have created a Portalglyph marker for the purposes of summoning the loathsome minions of Chaos! Bwhahaa! OATH COMPLETE I converted and puttied up some counts-as plaguebearers! The story goes: I already had 24 of them and then the new codex came out and I couldn't have three squads of eight anymore, so I needed to make six more to get three minimum squads. Also, musicians became actually useful so I made one for each squad. Again, here is the pile of bits they congealed from. They are all GW except for the metal instruments which are from Reaper: Here are the finished chappies. The musicians are the second, third, and sixth from left, armed with a washboard, bells, and a mandolin respectively: A closeup of the Detektuv's Jurnal element, a mangled, oozing crater where his arm used to be: Here they are with their buddies, 30 plaguebearers in all with a herald in front to keep them company. All ready to deepstrike onto objectives and absorb lasers all day! The rundown of the points as I have it: AP = 1 Completed = 5 Username = 1 Base = 1 Detektuv = 2 Total = 10 points I'm also claiming these as conversions and a themed group. I sorta chipped away at these, so I didn't have enough of a solid chunk of time to try speed painting after all. Lemme know if you want any more close shots.

I Frantz, do hereby declare this months OATH COMPLETE Oath addition: This havoc is most definately not my best work, and I must be the first to say that his eyes reminds me of this thing Additionally I have gone for the Detektuvs Jurnal on the Nurgle Terminator: He has been alive for 10.000 years, so it's har to know what has done the damage, but here I think it might have been the work of a lightning claw. Here someone shot up his powerfist. It's hard work stabbing all those people (with his oversized bayonet on a long-distance weapon, how very 40K ) And lastly a few more bulletholes and scratches from a power-weapon. The photos of the terminator have been taken in my newly fashioned lightbox, but I can see that I need a little more light. Always more light it seems
