Friday I lit a fire in my stove, because it was 13 degrees...

Yesterday was better - it was 15 degrees...

But at least to compensate - sometimes the rain stops!

The only thing that is benefitial is the light at night...

Also, gently caress you minnesota, your liquor laws are the stupidest. Lemme buy some beer on sunday! My truck doesn't get the mileage to justify driving to wisconsin just for beer.

Is Sunday the new big night for restaurants? I thought that Sunday night was when fancy-eatin' joints had specials to get people in... Last night the woman and I tried to drop into three different places, and they were all like "come back after 10:30".

Yeah, I know I should have gotten a reservation, I just didn't think they'd be madhouse booked on a Sunday night. We ended up eating at a mediocre Mexican joint.

Got it after roughly 2 weeks of infection, so antibiotics should be able to do the trick. here's the short version of my tale of woe.

Woke up and felt lovely, but went to work anyways as I'm the plant manager and nobody else is opening the place up unless it's an absolute emergency and if I don't show up, there will be a squad of very confused and unhappy workers standing outside a locked gate.

Got to work, got stuff started, then told the owners I had to go home (i almost never call in sick or go home) as I felt like death. I was sweating, pale, and shaking just standing still. Off to home I go.

Fever at 104F. I go to bed. Alternate between chills that literally make your teeth chatter like in the cartoons (I didn't know that poo poo actually happened, but it does) and being so hot that I wanted to take a cold shower. Also, felt dizzy, tired, and everything was sore.

Repeat for 3 days.

Felt better over the weekend and went into work the next week.

On Thursday of last week, noted some red patches on my neck. On Friday, my fever started to rear it's head again. On Saturday, I had a full body rash (large red patches about 2-3" diameter all over my entire body). ALso, the aches and pains are coming back like an rear end kicker.

Off to the doctor.

There's a spirochete party in my blood.

I had only used fresh horseradish once or twice, and never celery root. I didn't buy it, but I did remark that it didn't look like the root I had before. But the exterior is pretty similar. I figured it was just a different part of the root than I had last time. I even checked the receipt. Apparently a produce clerk stocked it in the wrong place. Not a mistake I will make again.

The uncooked puree was kind of tasty. A little bit sweet. But I threw it out because I thought it was defective horseradish.

In other news, I made snicker doodles by using my peanut butter cookie recipe and subbing the peanut butter with tj's speculoos butter. Made some bangin cookies. Now I want to figure out how to turn those cookies into cookie butter.

He just wants someone to shake his corks, is that too much to ask??
Dear E/n,
Socialist vacation (4 weeks) is happening, starting Friday, and all that is left is one little analysis to perform... The last 3 days I have been inferring fact from the vapor of nuance like a pimp, wondering where the gently caress his money are, and demanding answers with the flat of his hand.

Today I got to eat lunch with an employee, discussing the history of ownership of porn.com, refining the theory of localized ugliness due to non-selective breeding, Viking age rape laws and the relation of neural connectivity and crowdsourced idea generation - finally I planned out basecamp training for the fall..

I need to tell you about my experiences with the humanitarian folks when opportunity shows itself. It was so loving awesome to attend their training - suffice it to say that a combat nurse with 8 tours (3 in afghanistan) and I really had fun. Can't wait for deployment!

Wife is busy with selling a company, and the kids are possibly going feral because they are without meaningful adult supervision... The garden looks great though!

Why the gently caress is it always last moment before a vacation that the the poo poo piles up and you get handed a spoon, and a slap on the shoulder with a 'you can do it buddy!'?

Finally - the correct answer to the question 'Do you play golf?' Most certainly is not 'No, my wife and I are still sexually active'!

Love

Your pal

all celeriac puree I think is a bit overpowering.

HA! HA! NICE! WHAT A TOOL!
All celeriac puree is incredible, one of my favorite things. Best made by simmering the celeriac in milk 'til tender, blending, and combining with oodles of brown butter and garlic confit. Eat with lamb... or smoked trout. You don't need a whole lot. Think of it as a generous condiment, not a side. (This is how I like purees in general)
