The prime minister and the president will take Athena and Shim as their second wives. ~Plume will start a war.

It seems kind of surprising to me that Thorsby, who's progressive enough that he had an LGBT woman as the protagonist of his last story, would build a world relying on MEN ACT LIKE THIS WOMEN ACT LIKE THIS. I'm thinking the climax will involve the theory of war being disproven and gender-based failing to predict behavior.

It looks like Athena would rather educate people and end problems at their core than take advantage of her own knowledge of the problem's source (such as making the presidents fall in love with more females). The bit in the jail was an emergency situation that affected her directly, and if she'd instead successfully changed Shim's mind about the whole general matter, it wouldn't have been as efficient a use of Athena's techings. Now who's getting analyzed, Athena?

my dad posted:They're so tiny. Mmh. How d'you get there? Not-Plume is 14-pixels tall in the last panel. Assuming a height of 180 centimeters, that makes it about 13 cm per pixel. The guard in the same frame is about 350 pixels, so 45.5 meters tall. In the first frame, he is 17-pixel-tall, that makes it about 2m67 per pixel. So the palace has a roof height of 168 pixels = 450 meters; a dome height of 294 pixels = 787 meters, and a tower height of 426 pixels = 1140 meters.

So the palace has a roof height of 168 pixels = 450 meters; a dome height of 294 pixels = 787 meters, and a tower height of 426 pixels = 1140 meters. I didn't do a pixel count. I used Not-Plume's size from inside the saucer (it fit my mouse pointer), assumed that it was his upper torso and counted it as 1 meter. First mistake, since he seems to be standing and is almost fully visible. Then I roughly counted the number of times my cursor could fit on the big guy and the result was 15-ish. The scale changes with every panel, though, he's significantly larger compared to Not-Plume in the latter panels. Then I measured his size to be close to two cursors at the palace and roughly compared the size of the palace to the size of the guard's closeup. It was ~25 cursores, which divided by 2 and multiplied by 15 is around 200, probably a bit less. This is all incredibly AND wrong. That said, we really can't accurately measure anything due to Thorsby's err... lack of drawing talent.

1. I love how they have a tiny jail cell available with little air holes punched in it, and 2. I love how Thorsby throws out the big melodramatic romance reveal only for it to be immediately (but realistically) shut down.

This is the Thorsby-est solution to a problem ever. I hope it leads to another one of his insanely convoluted set pieces, like the ship/closet scene in Hitmen or the entirety of Lies, Sisters and Wives. With the added bonus that two of the major players are the size of ants.

Here's the thing. Well, now we know why there's the size difference. The problem is how many books are there going to have to be? Oh and making sure that the rituals ends up knocking them off. At least their ears are big enough to presumably hide enough books. Athena's gonna blow it by messing it up, most likely. Probably with a ritual that involves saying something and her accidentally tacking on 'this is stupid' to it. Or some other kind of communication mistake.

If he did an Indiegogo for an adventure game with a programmer and everything, I'd pledge to it like crazy.
