Whoa, the new ranger skill reduces PP consumption for a short time right after you load weak bullet. Depending on the percentage, this could make me want to use rifles again.

The Hunter and Fighter skills seem pretty poo poo, though Massive Hunter might be decent if it isn't buried in the Guard Stance tree.

Ranger Tactics Trap seem kind of cool I guess, and Power Bullet could be useful depending on the size of the boost.

Gunner Stylish Roll Up sounds good, provided the boost is large enough, and Stylish Roll Arts sounds badass if it actually does decent damage.

Force skills are all Ice tree and therefore automatically garbage.

Techter Wand Lovers sounds weird, is it a passive or a cooldown? Wand Reactor could be good with a large enough boost.

Wand Lovers description says it maxes Wand Gear but reduces PP to zero. If it's a cooldown, it could be OK, provided the cooldown is short, if it's a passive, it would be pretty terrible.

Wand Reactor adds a percentage of a wand's T-ATK to your S-ATK. Presumably a 10 pointer, it would have decent synergy with Wand Gear, but it would depend on the percentage whether or not it would be worthwhile.

Adrenaline could actually be good for TE/FI. Would save a lot of PP from keeping buffs up.

Wand Lovers definitely sounds like an active skill, since complete reduction of PP at any given time is stupid bad, even for Sega.

Wand Reactor however sounds like a great advantage and firmly defines Techer as a battlemage since Wand Gear based or influenced by S-ATK anyway.

Wand Lover (internally MainWand) is a 10-SP active. It maxes out at a "time" stat of 30 seconds and a cooldown of 45 seconds. Can't tell yet if it reduces PP to zero and/or maxes wand gear for the entire 30 seconds.

Wand Reactor (internally PowerWand) is a 5-SP passive. It maxes out at a "ConversionRate" of 0.4, so 40% of your wand's T-Atk gets added to its S-Atk.

EDIT: Made redundant by the above post.

Well, Wand Reactor owns then.

EDIT2: Just for reference that's 5 SP for a 320ish S-ATK boost using one of the trade-in wands. In bang for buck terms it's pretty drat good.

It already sounds terrible. I can just "reduce my PP to zero" by doing tons of tech damage AND max out wand gear at the same time.

I see it as more of a boss use thing. Get 1 point in it, burn your PP on tagging the bastard if necessary then use Wand Lover to max out your Gear if you're running low or didn't get any gear gain.

With Wand Reactor, you're not going to be using much of techs outside of utility anyway.

Maybe it's just perspective. I see wand gear as a relatively fun method to PP regeneration where your damage isn't total garbage. I mean the only other real alternative is to plink at the enemy for 100 damage with a gunslash.

It seems pretty useful to me as a means to boost single-target DPS for a short period of time. You're not going to be able to use utility spells, but during boss fights it's not like Zondeel is going to matter much, and you can always have a few dimates on hand if you gently caress up.

It's not like Wand gear is hard to max to begin with, any AOE tech will fill it instantly if it hits several enemies, and zan and others are pretty good for raising it against a single target boss.

And I imagine casting Shifta would be a better damage boost then a gear you can max anyway.

Well, it would have very good synergy with PP Slayer, which is supposed to be getting a significant bump soon. PP Slayer suffers from being buried at the bottom of a subtree most people wouldn't want to invest in, though.

They definitely seem to be trying to build synergy with Te/Fi. With the Wand Reactor, Shifta Advance, Adrenaline, Wise Stance, PP Slayer, Chase Advance, and Wand Lover, I could see that combo actually being pretty powerful. It would make the lack of PP regenerating skills not really matter on Te/Fi.

Edit: That said, I really wish they'd make freeze apply to bosses, especially the ones that can already be psuedo-frozen, because then the bonuses to the freeze tree might actually be pretty interesting to take. The only times I can see them being useful otherwise is during Vol Dragon and Chrome Dragon when they summon the mobs around them. Or clones, I guess.

Been trying to install this using pso2 tweaker. Was able to download all of the files, but it throws this error right at the very end. The install folder is still full of .tmp files. Any advice would be appreciated.

You appear to have the latest data files - Running final update steps!
Downloading version file...
ERROR - Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Users\Null\Documents\SEGA\PHANTASYSTARONLINE2\version.ver'. [FAILED!] Done!

It's probably worth mentioning that I don't have a SEGA folder in my documents. Should I create the folders I don't have that are mentioned in the error path, then move all the .tmp files there?

I'm pretty sure PSO2 Tweaker can't actually install the game itself, only patch it. Your best bet to avoid Sega's kinda crappy CDN for the most part is to grab this, install and then patch up ontop of that.
