Find a "levelling spec" for your class on the class guides forums of rift official forums, or check out the OP of this thread. Those tend to focus on survivability so you can kill kill kill without worrying about dying.

Do Instant Adventures (the . key ingame) and tag every mob you can while you and everybody else kills everything and gets tons of exp for it. When you're done you teleport back to wherever you joined at. Those will get you to 50 the fastest.

Gear resets at 50 in the expansion zones, that gear will outclass everything you've seen so far. So just 'get to 50' and do the story quests on the expansion continents for gear and with a levelling spec you'll be all set to get to 60 no problemo.

Approach from the south end of the room. Tank turns boss towards the north end, everyone else should stack on the boss' butt. If you get pushed back immediately teleport back behind the boss or run back. This should happen 2-3 times before they start throwing lightening around. When this happens, run behind a pillar and away from the robots. If a robot catches you, use your pvp ability to break stun. You can also go behind any of the robots at any time and insta-kill them with the pop-up ability. That's pretty much it, if you don't use break free you will die to the stun from the adds.

Backstabbing the robots is like the only mechanic that fight. That and standing in circles.

To elaborate, a quick guide to ToTs:

1. Get in when he does contracting green. Stand in blue circles. Backstab robots.
2. Get out of circles, run away when he emotes, AoE mobs down.
3. Don't DoT the melee mobs, let them explode on guy, then kill everything, don't stand in circles.
4. Get out of the circle in time.
5. Melee is super safe aside from the red circle

With horrible pubbies it really is easier to go around stabbing bots yourself. Otherwise it's going to be a giant clusterfuck.

So in one sentence: Stab robits, don't blow up.

The gear check for GA is loving insane. You need to be all raid gear, and several of them need to be raid drops for the +65 hit.

I think the boss does have a big cleave, like 180 degrees, so folks who get cleaved should be careful of that.

That is why I said gear check, not hit check. Having 520 hit is great, but not if its because you runed everything you can for hit. The 520 hit requirement is probably the easiest part of GA.

Unfortunately, the Soul window and the Shop window can not be individually adjusted, and take up more than my entire screen, making them completely useless. I filed a petition about this in ui feedback, but uh, is there a workaround that doesn't involve changing my UI scaler every single loving time I want to touch a shop or soul tree?

What he said. I started a mage and went with the chloroformoharb or whatever from the first page for pve. I basically run around tagging poo poo with nukes that also heal me, and let pubbies soak up some exp for me.

Casually playing my first two days back (and leveling mostly from pvp) I am already almost level 20. Had I been making GBS threads in a sock (that'll happen this weekend) I would be mid 30s, approaching 40 probably. If you can find a similar spec for cleric, I would definitely go with that.

If the bugging interrupt is the infinite storm, i was given a tip once about that. If you jump from the left side (as you teleport up there, with Crucia opposite) it shouldn't fail to interrupt her.

Listening to that advice, i never failed one after that. Maybe its a thing, maybe its just bad luck. Still abit annoying that's still a thing tho!

Only thing I can suggest is getting a bigger monitor with a bigger resolution, like 2560x1600. Obviously the repercussions of this would be a reduced frame rate though.

So I just went through my Mage's gear and the only pieces I should replace with raid gear are Wand, Chest, Gloves and Leggings and perhaps Rings.

And grind Torvan/Lycini Venerated for Cape and Lessers  (at least Lycini is easy and I'm already 60k/90k)

Also I probably won't be able to come on Mon/Wed but 29th will be fine.

You see, Guragh, they can't fire me for sexual harassment. The crime doesn't fit the punishment! :orks:
When they say they're making neural prod a "primary bolt," what exactly does that entail?

vvv Whoops, missed that part. :downs:

That:
* Improved Fireball: Renamed to Improved Bolt.
* Improved Bolt: Now affects all Primary Bolt abilities instead of only Fireball.
* Improved Bolt: Now increases the chance for Primary Bolt abilities to critically hit by 2/4/6%, down from 3/6/10%.

E:
* Burning Fury: Now increases the chance to critically hit with abilities by 2/4/6%.
Saw it coming, it's ok I guess. Someone will have to reevaluate CP/SP weights I guess
* Fulminate: Now costs 60 Charge.
Actually makes it worth using now since it can be used with IC for extremely hard hits
* Flame Volley: Reduced damage of the final tick.
Now I won't feel so bad about cancelling the channel early (and Loracia won't get Flame Volleyed for 20k heh)

* Spent Heavy Omniparticle Emitter now has a Warrior/Rogue upgrade path.
* Peace of the Hailol now has a Warrior/Rogue upgrade path.
Neat.
* Frozen Ion Cloud now has a caster upgrade path.
I wonder what it does.
* Greater Essences drop more frequently from Strongholds, however, they are still rare.
* Essences of any planar type may now be found in any planar Stronghold. Example: Life strongholds can now drop Fire Essences.
This is the best thing (I still haven't done SHs though)

Nice Necro/Harb/SC changes overall

We come spinning out of nothingness, scattering stars like dust.

Hah, fulminate+IC will probably last about 10 minutes in PVP until hotfixed.

Best change though?

* Mote collecting now possible while mounted for all mote quests. Every single motey one of them.

Funnily enough, my average crit rate prepatch was around 29% (37% for fireball). Now it'll be around 25% with 31% for fireball. Not that big of a nerf (though it'll be much more of a nerf to players with lower gear since Int adds SC)

The burning fury change actually hurts Warlock the most, it has fallen behind in the parses from PTS. Will be checking there to see what specs shake out from the mage changes. Necro/Harb hybrids have been messed with, and SC/ELE hybrids for ST may be an option.

booya class changes:
CLERICS (oh wait nope)

Once again Trion completely ignores clerics.

Oh well, it's clearly because we're the best class by far right now

I should probably go on PTS and try the new inquisitor. I hear it's ahead of everything else maybe. So basically worthless in 2 months when everyone else complains again probably.

I knew playing nothing but Stormcaller the last week would pay off. Thanks, Trion!
