A weasel wearing a radio collar, which makes me wonder about what sort of information they'd get from something that basically never stops vibrating, and how you put a collar on something that doesnt appear to have any variations in width.

So a while ago a Cheerios ad got a whole bunch of people mad because it depicted a mixed-race family. This isn't the thread to discuss those people and why they are wrong, instead have this Fine Bros. video where they show the ad to a bunch of very young kids and ask them if they see anything wrong with it. The kids are varying degrees of :3: and uplifting in their responses.

me and my sister were walking to the store and this little black thing started waddling towards us down the sidewalk and it turned out to be a little skunk. we followed him a bit and then he started following us! he let me pet him and i let him crawl on me. we weren’t sure what to do because i had to stop two cars from hitting them(one was a police officer who thought this was hilarious we’re playing with a skunk). i saw some lady come out of her house and asked if she had a box so we boxed him up and took him home, fed him stuff which he happily ate and come time dawn i let him go behind the fence of my yard and into the woods so hopefully he’d go find shelter or venture further out.

I hate to be a downer, but part of me is wondering if it had rabies. Being that "chill" around humans isn't normal for a skunk. :(

I don't know where you found those picture and that story, but if you know them personally, I would ask them if the skunk scratched or bit them in any way. If they say yes, tell them to get rabies shots.

The skunk in those pictures is a juvenile and its evening or morning time which is a normal time for them to be wandering around. It probably just left/got kicked out by its mother and was looking for food. Young ones will follow anyone they think has food. If you raise one from a baby they will follow you around for the rest of their lives :3:

EDIT: Fact-checking!
EDIT2: Apparently it is only really dangerous if it enters the bloodstream. So the cat actually biting the bird and puncturing the skin is potentially lethal, but licking should not be an issue, though it should be avoided.

Today Sunny the Fawn decided he wanted to help me check my bluebird boxes. So he, and his best friend Harriet the wire-haired terrier, followed me and my tech around for about half an hour.

It was really hot today so I cut up a water bottle and gave Sunny and Harriet some water.

Harriet is a good dog. Even though she's been both hit by a truck and kicked in the face by a horse.

My favorite thing about this video is that the black kids didn't catch on any faster than the white kids. I was really worried that once the story was revealed that the black kids would be upset, but they were just as surprised by the racism the video had incurred. They've never felt singled out for who they are, and none of the kids even noticed the colour of the parents skin. That's the kind of world I want to live in.

Sorry for not responding sooner. They picked it up with heavy duty gloves and placed it in a box before they released it. It didn't bite or scratch anyone. Skunks are surprisingly overconfident when they're young, because they're like "well if anything fucks with me I'll just spray it in the face". Just hopefully it doesn't wander back around where people are. No wonder it was following around that guy though, he constantly smells like dead animals because he's a taxidermist. Sure skunks love that.

Mine also savaged anything that came near them. Only way you could get them out of the cage to clean it out was to lower your hand in (preferably in a gardening glove) and wait for them to latch on.
