The sad thing is that happens hundreds of times a week all summer long at hundreds of dirt tracks across the US, and that stuff isn't on TV. Usually cheaper than a night at the movies, too.

This has been making the rounds on the social networks around here. Apologies if it's already been posted, but I didn't see it in the past few pages. A Russian two-year old recognizes the cars in a parking lot a lot better than most adults do. She fails a Nissan (I think she says "I don't know", instead of "Nissan"), is perplexed by a Smart and the dad skips two cars, but she gets the rest and her pronunciation of BMW is hilarious. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5F7t2OwuvpY a podcast for cats fucked around with this message at 08:25 on Aug 1, 2013 |

Can I post requests in here? I'm trying to find a video somebody spectating at a track took. I remember that one or two high-end cars come around a corner, there's a pause, then a Miata enters the frame sideways, like the little engine that could, chasing the exotics. Am I the only one who has seen this video?

I used to have one favorited that was a GT40 going through a corner nice and smooth, not very fast. Then a miata bombing through the corner with a slight drift for a while. It has apparently been deleted. I don't know if that's what you're talking about. Bumming Your Scene posted:How the hell does your brake pedal seize? ABS goes loving nuts. I've seen it happen with at least two AWD cars on the track and resulted in either a huge crash or a very lucky 200kph excusion into sand trap. Another condition is when the booster runs out of boost and you get an unexpectly heavy pedal. Both are solved by REALLY jumping on the brake pedal (ABS misfire will still fight you big time) but they both can take you by surprise and that second to work out WTF is going on can be the difference between getting around the corner and a big off. To someone who has never experienced either it can be pants making GBS threads and exactly like your brake pedal freezing. TBH, even good drivers can be taken by surprise and may never have experienced it. By the look of the video, I'm going with booster pressure ran out.

Well, it came out pretty quickly that the dude had the original brake fluid and autozone street pads (pure crap) on the car. The EVO wasn't at stock power levels either and it was his first track day. <--- I think that is a huge factor myself.

I don't know the story behind that Evo 8 crash but holy poo poo is that passenger loving terrible. I can only hope that he's an instructor, but I'm not holding my breath. 1. The passenger is holding onto the a pillar while sliding into the barrier. No no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no. 2. First thing the passenger does? Hop out of the car with a hot track. Noooooooooooooooo. 3. Pure speculation, but I'm right in either scenario: if the group running the track had that passenger as an instructor or if the group allows passengers to just go out whenever, it looks TERRIBLE on the group/club that rented out the track.

Smokey car that just slammed the barrier. I'd have a hard time staying in it too. I might not see flames, but are the occupants supposed to stay in a car that's on fire? If your booster runs out of vacuum, do you still have a pedal press or two that still has assist? Or will you need to pump the hydraulic system up again and revert to braking without assist?

Yea, boosters have enough vacuum for a few stops even if the vacuum generator goes kaput. However, in the case of total failure you're kinda boned since its not hydraulic or mechanical problem, the system is just designed for the brake booster to multiply the 50lbs pedal pressure you're providing up to 300lbs and now with that gone you need to supply that 300lbs pressure with just your legs to get the same braking force.
