WHAT YOU SAY
Paradise by Floorplan (Robert Hood) is finally out!! It came out on the 1st but I kept forgetting to grab it.

What a great album, I have a feeling I'm going to be playing this as much as I've played The Killer by Shed. Lots of tracks I've been hearing for a while.

The Hank Jackson EP forthcoming on Mister Saturday Night is raw as gently caress http://soundcloud.com/mistersaturdaynight/sets/hank-jacksons-deposit-ep-clips

It sounds a little thin but hopefully that's just soundcloud being soundcloud. All of the other MSN releases have sounded top notch.

Can you guys recommend any Vegas clubs? I'm going to be there the weekend after next. I'll be staying at the Riviera but I should be able to get anywhere on the strip pretty easily. Looking for anything techno, tech-house or deep house-ish.

Wherever you end up going, please share how you liked it. Going to be going in a few weeks, and debating going to see Above & Beyond, or something along the lines of what you're looking for.

Looking for rather thumpy techno with none of the vibe that is usually characteristic of House, because it always guarantees somebody is going to recommend me borderline tech house.

Here's my dilemma: I loving love Sandwell District, Conforce, but I can't find anything like them since my genre knowledge in techno only goes into the softer side of things (ambient dubno). Every time I look for something fast paced and thumpy, the vibes go to either old garage or tech house. I really want a deep, synthetic, energetic vibe to counter that of House, and I can't keep running back to what I know, because even classics get old.

Would appreciate any direction in this matter.

Did you listen to the Sandwell district fabric mix? I'd recommend that and last year's Ben Klock fabric mix, this year's Levon Vincent LWE mix if you haven't heard them. If you have, um, un moment. But also listen to Surgeon.

How fast paced and thumpy do you want to go? I've been listening to a lot of acid techno lately like Stay Up Forever type stuff, Hydraulix.

Acid techno is not really my thing. Way too hyperactive. It does give me a few kicks occasionally though. (eheh, see what I did there?)

To me, though, this is more party music. I'm looking for something I'd night drive to, in contrast. Deep house is alright for that, but it's very human and organic due to the nature of house. What I try to find in techno is very synthetic music to contrast it.

Voices From the Lake - Voices From the Lake LP
Holden - The Inheritors LP
