Ah Toriko. If Jirou can knock the planet, considering he traveled through Gourmet World, then what the hell lives in Gourmet World? I know the story gave us a few samples, but what the hell is in there that evolved Jirou to grant him that much power?

Next chapter Jirou reveals that he already ate God on accident, assuming he was just some random mook.

So, here's my question: where are we now in terms of factions at play? We got the Good Guys (Toriko and Granny and co), the Bad Guys (evil old lady, Starjun, etc), and then a third party lead by the old guy chef and maybe masterminded by either a mysterious Joa or a bunch of fat businessmen hiding in a bunker? And then this Frohze person who doesn't seem to be there for the same reason the third party is, but isn't exactly acknowledged by Starjun's side either, and now Jiro who currently isn't aligned but may be about to pick a side. What agendas do we know about so far? What's the deal with the fat businessmen?

You know, in the midst of the chapter containing an old dude stunning a dude by shouting probably knocking the air with his voice or something and knocking the planet's lights out, I somehow forgot that he could only do this because at some point he ate some really, really good food.

Frohze apparently is Joa. Jirou is probably on the IGO's side in the sense of being law-abiding, but he doesn't seem to care that much about fighting the Gourmet Corp and NEO; I think he's only fighting now to protect Setsuno. Shonen manga conventions would dictate that Joa/Frohze, rather than the fat businessmen, is the actual leader of NEO.

Considering that Jirou, IGO president, and Bishoukai leader were all disciples of acacia, they may have already eaten god once before.

That has been my theory from the beginning which explains why everyone wants him.

Either that or he is the Son of God.

His whole character is based on being the purest character of the group. He always has great reverence for the ingredients he is preparing and a natural ability to help others.

I always figured that Komatsu was just the roaming manifestation of food luck that Acacia scraped away as he went to heaven to hang out with (and eat) god, and it found a new host in Komatsu.

Or that he shares a DNA link with the legendary Bishokuya.

Does Komatsu have that often typical shounen skill of repeating anything he's seen once, or has that yet to happen? Seems like now would be a good time.

Most people will not understand the ending, claiming it's just 118 pages of Perfect Komatsu and buff buffets. Real fans, reading with the most muscular muscle of all (the heart), will see the truth.

And Mitsutoshi will haul his several tons of drawing equipment over his shoulder, and march to a new land in need of ridiculous comics.

The line about Starjun being the second strongest in Gourmet Corp means that there aren't many people left who can challenge Toriko at this point.

Also, I just noticed that Batoto gives this series the "Shonen Ai" tag. I wasn't expecting that, but I guess it shouldn't be surprising.

As much as I love this manga and I know everyone here loves it too, I can't help but feel like this is dragging on and on and on and on now. Idunno. Maybe I'm just being too picky with my mangas and whining for the sake of whining, since it is a shonen battle manga. That was never really why I read it though- the hilariously over-the-top environments like the gravity forest or the volcanic veggie sky garden, the delicious looking ingredients and the amazing reactions whenever someone ate something were what made this fun for me I guess? Now it feels like its been six months of super-powered guys shooting increasingly stronger beams at each other and yelling. The arc probably hasn't been going that long, but it feels like it, at least for me.

Basically I liked the chapters about hanging out with Jirou on the back of a giant wine dragon better than I like the chapters about Jirou shooting wolf beams. To each his own, it just feels like it's been FOREVER since we've so much as seen an ingredient. :(

So Starjyun is the second most powerful in the Bishokukai in terms of cooking and/or power. So basically Toriko's been fighting a losing battle up till this point.
If he's the second most powerful cook, I wonder in what league difference that is to Komatsu or people like Setsuno.

Strange that the few female characters that are in the story, "This" Frohze actually has a Gourmet Demon persona like most of the Intimidation faces made by other front line players.

I don't see how Starjyun doesn't just instantly die here. Like, maybe my power creep-o-meter is off, but I can't see Toriko landing a hit on Setsuno, Jirou, or Frohze at his current level. But he was able to not get immediately murdered when fighting Starjyun and was even able to pull out all of his insides at some point. I honestly don't see what Starjyun plans to accomplish going against a man that can knock the planet and a woman who can cook your mind.

Numbers game, Starjun is strong enough that it wouldn't be instant death, and him + jirou + setsuno is getting to be bad odds for "frohze".
