Megapolis is cracking me up.

6 months in, still no paywall. I have no clue how the gifts menu is coded. "Send gifts" "received" and "neighbor's wish list" are all separate inventories, with separate items. "Store House" is a whole other inventory. All inventories are infinite, so hoarding is beneficial. Sometimes you can begin construction and finish instantly off 18 pages of hoarded items.

I have 162 neighbors all sending me crap that costs $1 or $2 in IAP currency. If you begin construction, eventually, someone will send you the required IAP materials. I have no idea how or why it works out that way. I'm sure most of my neighbors are bots.

Every 5 days, you get $2 in IAP dollars. This should always be put towards 17x17 expansions. It's ultimately non-beneficial to shoot for any rewards higher than the "5 day in a row" reward. The other rewards are basically crap.

I just finished fully upgrading my airport. I can go from 100 coins to 500,000 coins in 3 days, if I tap hard.

Aside from designing a purely cosmetic village, it's also fun to have a laugh at the $40 building promotions.

Still haven't gotten the bucket excavator as advertised on Facebook...

Yes it sure does keep you guessing doesn't it? It's a good looking game but extremely difficult to progress in without spending copious amounts of actual money. So far I have held out and have a reasonable city but checking the top 100 makes me think either people are cheating or have remortgaged to play!

Hello iOS games thread, I'm about to leave for vacation and I'm going to have long plane rides and bus segments, and I'd like a few suggestions on some little things to play during those segments beyond the usual endless runners and puzzle games. I was kind of looking at Xcom but 18€ is a pretty steep pricetag for throwaway entertainment during dead segments and I'd wager playing on a tiny iPhone screen is not optimal, so is there anything to scratch that turn based strategy itch? I'm not too worried about throwing a couple euros some dev's way so long as the game is not filled with iap bullshit. I'd also want to ask if there's any new neat puzzle games came out recently, as the most recent I own is the cut the rope expansion and the gimmick has gotten kind of tiring.

Breach and Clear may scratch that itch, it's a basically a modern frozen-synapsy thing that, while totally not finished, is totally worth the two dollars they're charging. May annhilate your battery, however.

Final Fatantasy Tactics: The War Of The Lions may do it, though it's somewhat pricey and also terribly, terribly japanese, wherein you have a game where the story exists on one plane of existence and the combat on totally another, but the combat, provided you don't over grind and over level and stay the right kind of level, is very, very fun.

Check out Ravenmark, both the original single player Scourge of Estellion and the new multiplayer focused Mecenaries. It's one of the deepest and most interesting turn based strategy games on the iOS and the best medieval-style warfare game. I'm surprised more goons aren't talking about Mercenaries on here.
