So I got picked up welder. XO up here in BSpa loves to tell us how we all get 30 days of leave when we get out of here and how even if our plant gets delayed, he will push back our report dates so we can have that 30 days. I have been looking forward to that leave for a while. Will I get 30 days to report to welding school in Groton and/or 30 to report to actual Navy?

The normal advice for nukes going to the boat is that you do this at prototype to get as much info as you could. My class couldn't do it cause of the fires, shut downs, or tiger crew that kept our guys too busy to see any students.

Don't sit around in the cubes trying to get info from books. Go in-hull and get hands on. Talk to the watchstanders who are often bored as poo poo and love to sign, instead of waiting in line for an off-hull checkout. Also get your UI watches and any evolutions done ASAP to avoid unforeseeable delays later.

I remember our bull poo poo last thing everyone had to do in prototype was "This tank springs a leak, tell us what happens to every other system at every depth of this tank" where "I don't know, the sub caught fire again?" was never the correct answer. We had so many people graduate late.

In power school my math guy was a DILDO. He didn't know how to handle students, fresh out of college, and we broke his rear end. We made him tell us about all the personal moments, him failing to hit on this female DILDO in his office, and how he went home, drank, stared at a wall a lot, and just played wow. He also told us he almost hit some black people one night until one of them turned around and opened their eyes. The one black guy in class was going off on him so hard. What when they opened their mouth did you see their teeth too and think it was a ghost flying in the night? We didn't do poo poo for math. We had a few guys like this and my class had huge failure rates. One guy didn't even know there were non pictures in slide shows. Our book never matched what he showed. He also gambled a lot. Then told us a story. When I got to my boat I was told to go tour it. When I got to maneuvering, one of the guys in there said, "You ever suck a dick boy?" to which this, now chief then nub, said, "Yes, when my cousin molested me when I was seven." To this the guy in maneuvering apologized. Our class was like deer in head lights, not knowing what to say. The rest of his class was pretty much him talking about gambling online and how much money he made and how he poo poo talked people.

What when they opened their mouth did you see their teeth too and think it was a ghost flying in the night? Awesome. It's always nice to hear from other people who weren't in classes that missed 14 points aggregate throughout NPS. My class had a poo poo ton of RO's, so we couldn't fit into the normal two sections for RO's. They turned Section 6 into an RC div section rather than a M div section. Day 1 looking around we knew something was wrong. A quarter of the class were ETSNs, and the majority were still stuck on phase one liberty. Turns out they took everyone who had been masted (I think 3 dudes were on restriction on day 1), had a letter of instruction, or underperformed in A School and threw them in this section. We started with slightly less than 30 people, of which 15 graduated power school, and I think 7 of us made it all the way through the pipeline. I was the anchorman of the class with a 2.9 before comp. I wasn't doing that poorly, just everyone below me kept getting kicked out.

For Prototype new guys, I'm the newset prototype qualed guy (now on the mighty PCU Gerald R Ford!), and yeah, the boat is key, mids guys love checkouts because no one is there and they do nothing, and during shutdown periods, for Electrical checkouts, SEO and AMR will love to give you checkouts inbetween their long roves/checkins.
