Two roads diverged in a wood, and I, I took the one to Flavortown, and that has made all the difference.

I'm still looking for a bottle or two of the New Glarus Strawberry Rhubarb. I'm trying to pick it up for my girlfriend's birthday since Rhubarb is her favorite thing ever and she loves sour beer. If someone could hook me up I will shower you with beer.

I've never had Zombie Dust, Heady Topper or any of the other highly rated IPAs you can't get in San Diego. Basically looking to do a shelf beer trade. I can offer Alpine in return, or Pliny the Elder or something comparable.

Any info on this? I tried to find stuff about it via facebook/their website but couldn't find anything. Depending on the bottle limit, I might be willing to make the 3 hour drive there...

Hey, for those of you that did the Beer it Forward, LeafHouse was the guy that organized it and for some reason is not getting a box. If you'd consider giving a few bucks to help us put a box together for him, you can get the details on that right over here in the BIF thread. I did post this in the main beer thread, but I know there are a few that BIFed but aren't regular there. Thanks!

ISO: Fresh Heady Topper x4. FT: Citra Ninja bottled on 7/30, and I also have access to anything distributed in Chicago. Almost without exception, I can get any beer that distributes here the day it drops in stores. Zombie Dust may be the only one that's a bit tougher to get.

Edit: Made this trade on another site, so retracting this request.

I have a friend, who is actually a goon of almost 10 years but mostly lurks who just got a Cigar City Catador membership. He had no clue until a couple months ago that people trade beers and such. He plans on buying the max allotment that he can and is looking to trade some of them. Since he doesn't know about trading and isn't really knowledgeable outside the distribution area, he asked me to help broker some trades. We won't be looking for anything crazy, but we would like to get some of the more rare and brewery only releases throughout the country. So if you want a Catador beer, just let me know and we can arrange something!

Forgotten Island is the first. A quad aged in rum barrels and clocking in at 15% ABV, making it the highest ABV CCB has ever made. Also, jsut based on what they have posted on twitter when they were making them, I would expect to see Rum barrel aged Good Gourd, Tequila barrel aged Batch 69 Cream Ale, and they said some kind of Hunahpu, but I doubt even they know what it is since it will be a year til that even comes out.

I thought Murcielago was decent but nothing I'd track down again. The group I had it with said the previous bottle they had was terrible.

That depends on what Huna batch it is, how long they are going to age it, etc. For all we know, they could have barreled some 2012 a year and a half ago for this. Even the 2013 at this point would be in barrels for almost 6 months.

CCB has been pretty vague about schedule, only saying that a membership essentially ends 30 days after the last beer is released. I'm hoping it drags out a little to see if members get any Hunahpu's Day benefits. That might be a good excuse for a FL weekend next winter...

Ugh. El Catador is really loving with my budget and I really shouldn't be spending more/trading but... I'd be willing to take a bottle or two of Vera Mae off you, or an Allagash coolship, if they have any. Please put me at your lowest priority, though.

Double Sunshine is one dimensional and underwhelming. That's right I said it. I mean, perfectly fine IPA and all, but it's not fair to drink it alongside Heady.

Also, I grabbed an Arctic Saison for Midorka the other day and would be glad to get more and set something up with someone for a nice pale ale like Daisy Cutter or something like Zombie Dust.

(Also have plenty of Almanac FR#3, barrel noir, and the new pumpkin barleywine that's pretty good)

I will disagree about Double Sunshine. I have had it a couple times, most recently a few days ago and I think its a fantastic beer. Its different than Heady Topper, but not necessarily worse. I think its on par, just with a different flavor profile.

It's a good, but not great, citrusy saison. Love Buzz and several HF saisons are much better. It's quite a bit above Anchorage/Mikkeller It's Alive! though.

Also, looking to trade some Bruery Sour in the Rye Kumquat, Beauregard, Bottleworks XII ('13), Vietnamese Speedway, and several other local releases (BA Old Numbskull, Hangar 24 Pugachevs Cobra, etc). Black Tuesday ('11 and '12) and Chocolate Rain ('12 and '13) as well. Plus IPAs of course. Not looking for anything specific right now, but not looking for anything crazy for the Bruery RS beers either. Interested in somewhat limited and seasonal releases I can't get in CA.

Since you have access to the RS, I assume you are in CA? While the state is a bit large, maybe a socal beer meet should take place?

I've been saying this for a while. Had designs for a while there to do something on either the 24th or 25th but I decided the 24th was going to be "brew 3 beers" day and got busy/lazy and didn't try to plan anything for the 25th. If people want to congregate on short notice in the eastern part of SD county on Sunday the 25th, I'll provide the house/bbq/pool and a few cellared items but unless I can get a decent amount of people to show up (6 or more-ish?) it seems wise to hold off until something bigger can be planned.

I know there's enough people to do it, it's just a matter of getting everyone in the same place at the same time.
