It was a minor nitpick. I also assumed it was digital and didn't see it as film grain. It's a great photo.

I dunno, I guess it's kind of a reaction to people doing the thing Verman described.

Speaking of overdone subjects....train tracks!

This is just gorgeous. I love the backlit heads.

Well that's good, sadly none of my other rock pics have bacon.

Just ambient from flashlights. I kind of wish I could get into some undeveloped caves, but the nearest good one is closed for the forseeable future thanks to White Nose Syndrome.

This is gorgeous. You can almost flip that upside down and not even notice. Where was it taken?

Guilin, China. China has the most hilariously fake caves I've ever seen. Well they're real caves but they're all paved and have hundreds of colored lights and fake pools to make them look more majestic or something. Chinese tourists are weird but it makes for a good photo.

I wouldn't say that's just a Chinese thing. My pictures were taken in a cave in Tennesee complete with paved trail, stairs, and scene lighting. The pool in the 3rd picture might be artificial.

The cave I was in had natural looking lights (it was Jewel Cave, in South Dakota). Some of my pics came out really green, but it cleared up in post. No idea what sort of lights they were using that was screwing with the auto white balance so bad.

Also Jewel Cave (and the nearby Wind Cave) are both only around 2-5% explored (and that's with Jewel cave having 170 miles mapped and wind cave around 140 or so?), so feel free to come to south dakota and learn how to cave and help explore. There's lots of undeveloped cave out here!

This is the first long exposure ocean shot I've ever taken, funnily enough it's one of my favourites from the whole morning.

Love this one, interesting how the centred composition of the buildings adds to the sense of scale.
