Hm...the SR4 inauguration station AND SR3 are both crashing on startup now. SR3 was working just last week.

Is anyone in America ordering the Commander in Chief edition? I'm in Australia and really interested in the bonus stuff from the Dangerous Wub Wub edition EXCEPT for the game itself, specifically the Dub Step Gun Replica and that other crazy crap. I'd be happy to pay the difference to get that stuff, plus the shipping to get it to me...

Even if you had prime Hogan, Angel was still written to be a somber mentor character and rendered completely forgettable as a result. Killbane was more of a Hulk Hogan personality than the character that Hogan actually voiced. Also Sasha Grey sounded like she would rather be anywhere else but Tera Patrick's performance in that SR2 DLC made her sound like Jennifer Hale in comparison.

Are there any little changes to the game mechanics in 4 versus 3? The aiming in 3 always seemed oddly off to me (not as much as 2 though) and jumping gets all weird sometimes. I'm gradually being swayed over to wanting it on day one, now. 3 ultimately disappointed me but it still kept me playing for a good long time. And I love how my boss looks. Oh, by the way, I'm having trouble with the community site, and its functions inside of SR3 and the Inauguration Station (which is now not crashing for some reason). It says "found an account associated with your steam account", which is expected, and I put in my password which is documented from last time and...nothing. I ask for a password email and never got it. Any ideas? edit: also it won't let me change that username, for the purpose of starting a new account, not inside the game anyway. Any idea where that info is stored? Samurai Sanders fucked around with this message at 03:54 on Aug 17, 2013 |

Just found out I am getting SR4 as a slightly belated birthday gift for PS3. This obviously means I will play through it, wait until the winter steam sale, buy SR4 PC for like 50% off and then enjoy the fruits of 4 months of modding time. Can't wait! I'll have to see how well it actually performs on my PS3 versus what the reviewers are saying.

"If you run into account problems on our website or Inauguration Station: send your username/registered email to saintaccount@deepsilver.com" I did that and they got me sorted pretty quick. Hence the question about whether I can change its associated username in the game. edit: now it won't let me log into the website with that username either. Come to think of it, I think I remember these kinds of problems from when SR3 launched...

All these horror stories about how badly SR4 supposedly runs on consoles doesn't phase me. I played Saints Row 2 on PC, and I did it without installing the mods that make it not run like rear end. And I used the keyboard controls. So long as SR4 runs better than that, I'm fine.

I played SR2 on PC after playing it on the xbox and it was almost unbearable. I still beat it (again) but it was a thoroughly less enjoyable experience. I hope my 5850 gets along well with the PC version. ATi cards are weird.

Yeah, I remember when I was first playing SRTT and vaguely remembered Hogan was in it, I thought he had to be the super-bombastic wrestler with a penchant for showmanship. It was almost surreal when I found out he played Angel. Dr. Abysmal posted:Also Sasha Grey sounded like she would rather be anywhere else but Tera Patrick's performance in that SR2 DLC made her sound like Jennifer Hale in comparison. Sasha Grey has always had the flat, utterly bored voice though, from live-acting in Entourage to voice-acting in SRTT, and even when absolutely horrible things were being done to her in pornography. Same cadence, same seeming disinterest in anything and everything that was happening. But yeah, you could've pretty much cut either her or Zimos out and little would have changed. For what it's worth I liked Zimos though, or at least his concept; an auto-tuned pimp that had been turned into a bondage pony-boy that culminates in him being your escape vehicle was probably the zenith of the series' surreality, though I would love it if SRIV topped it

Honestly, if you asked me, Killbane killed the wrong DeWinter. If you want to have a celebrity voice a character, write for them instead of trying to mold them into your writing. If you're hellbent on having Sasha Grey voice a character then write her as a Mentat, a human computer void of emotion. A pure logic machine.

Like the guy said earlier, send an email to saintaccount@deepsilver.com and give it a shot anyway. When I did, they asked me for the email address the account was tied to and my DOB, and it turned out that I had used one of my regular accounts (as I thought) but it wasn't sending me an email password reset. Worst case scenario, you explain that you forgot which email address it was exactly and you try to hash something out with them.

I happened on it when I was first playing SR3 to look up stats of the vehicles, trying to find the best 4-door car, and recently was reading stuff about 1 & 2 for the backstory that will be in IV. The stuff about the sisters and the old fourth faction is taken from posts by Steve Jaros on the SR official forums (all of which are giving me a 500 poo poo's hosed error when I try to look at the originals now).

So one thing I've been wondering: what is it about Fuzz that apparently makes it such a pain in the rear end to program/add for SR3 and SR4 that wasn't a problem for SR2, new system or no? It's the best activity in the series and it sucks it's only in one game (even if it's the best game) while Mayhem continues to exist.

Fuzz relied on your character being forced to improvise when handed random weapons, whereas starting in SR3 you have a fixed inventory. To get the same effect, the game would have to randomly lock-out your weapons or something, and that's a lot less fun, though I guess Reality Climax kind of does that. It was also a mission type that relied entirely on combat challenges, with no secondary lose condition like a time-limit or escort. The only way you were going to lose was if Boss died, and that was fine in SR2. However in SR3 this would mean that once you unlocked the top tier of upgrades and became immune to damage, Fuzz missions would become impossible to lose (unless something really crazy happened).
