Bah! I haven't downloaded ios7 yet because my phone won't tell me I can upgrade. I tried using the fourth code but I don't know if it went through. I'll try it again at home after updating.

I was on the final eighteen stitches of the ravelry regular guy beanie after working all day today. But I hosed up the final couple k2tog's and decided to unravel the whole drat thing. I don't even know how to feel right now.

Well, I updated to iOS 7, but I didn't know how to re-redeem the code. It wouldn't give me a chance to download under iOS 6.x.x, but it gave me a price when I went to the app on my phone, so I just bought it anyway. NBD. I really like it so far. I'm going to give it a try at the Arizona Yarn Crawl next month, because I need yarn for Christmas presents and I've been holding off on buying any!

Has anyone ever unraveled a project in the presence of someone? What was their reaction? Did they understand? Or did they think you were bloody fricking insane? Or were they just suddenly absent from the room... I just unraveled these stupid gloves for I don't know how many times. I don't know what it is. These gloves or glittens are just kicking my hiney! Its funny though, because whenever I unravel I have noticed that my husband acts rEaLlY wEiRd. Nicer than usual... carefuler-er...er than usual... almost as if he's afraid....

I unraveled a poncho last week because I hosed up and made it too long and my boyfriend thought I was nuts, I think. But really, it wasn't fixable and I remade the whole thing in like 3 days anyway.

I usually end up doing it around other knitters--they know how to pour sympathy drinks. That said, I've done it around a few boyfriends, and the reactions ranged from 'suddenly absent' to really careful.

I've started knitting the dread Christmas presents - gloves to this pattern. They're knitted with worsted weight yarn on 2.5mm (cuffs) and 3mm (hand) DPNs. It's rather slow-going as a result. Also, my finger stings a bit.

I don't remember the last time I ripped out a bunch of stitches all at once. My roommate once got 2/3rds of the way through a lace cowl that was giving her a lot of grief before realizing it was also twisted. I backed away very, very slowly.

Y'all are good knitting role models. Cause I'm all like, "Oh I dropped a few stitches? Oh, i added a bunch of increases that aren't supposed to be there? Don't worry, sweetie, it'll look fine on you. Now go make me another old-fashioned."

I don't get angry when I frog. If I'm frogging a project it's usually because I lost or dislike the pattern and I want to use the yarn for something else. I really haven't ever had to rip back because of a mistake (they usually aren't noticeable) and if I drop stitches I know how to get them back.

I haven't frogged in a long time. Usually I notice a mistake only a row or two later so I can just tink back to it. I don't really mind frogging, though, it's kinda fun (reknitting is what I would get pissed about). I don't think anyone I've dated has cared past a two-second "aw, bummer," but I do have a friend who used to MOURN when she saw it when we lived together.

I've ripped out several inches of scarf before* and my mother (who also knits) lectures me about how I'll never finish it if I keep pulling it apart. She doesn't do that as much now that I've finished a few projects, though. * including sections with k/p designs, increases, decreases, and cabling.

I've only ever frogged in front of my boyfriend, who likes to suggest helpful alternatives to doing it: "You could give it to a tiny/huge person!" or "What about superglue?" Although he genuinely feels bad for me. I feel like I've been lazy since I've been out of school this summer, but I look at what I've gotten done in the last couple months and I don't feel too bad: The sweater has a pretty noticeable line of color change in it due to hand-dyed blah blah natural variances, and I'm trying to not let it get to me, but it really does The hat is my favorite everything, though, even though it's a little slouchier than I generally prefer.

I can't see any line of color change. I have a half sweater I'm running out of yarn on, and of course I bought it well over a year ago in a store that since closed. Not much chance of matching that dye lot. At least it's a heathered color. That hat is the business! What pattern is it?

I'm looking for a reasonably easy men's sweater pattern I can make with chunky-ish yarn, but nothing is simple enough on Ravelry. It's either got colorwork or cables or it just looks silly. I've never made a sweater before! I just want to make something simple! Help me, goons.

How chunky? My first sweater was Saranac from Knitty. Very easy, interesting enough to keep my attention. It's written for worsted-aran ish yarn though, I did mine in Lion Brand Wool-ease.

Bertrand Hustle posted:Please tell me you knit everything except the jeans. If you like one that has color work you can probably just follow the directions and ignore the charts and knit it in one color. Don't do this with cabled patterns though because cables take up more yarn so it would end up too big if you took them out.

My boyfriend just laughs and asks how many times this makes it. I tend to start, unravel, restart, unravel, restart, unravel, and then finally nail the first few rows/rounds and have no problems after that. He's fearless.

Thank you guys SO much for your response to my app! I've had several bloggers and podcasters contact me to let me know they'll be giving it a glowing review, and some of them only heard about it through word of mouth. If any of you helped out there, I really appreciate it! Please do let me know if you have any feature requests, etc; you can find me here or on ravelry as tomburns, or contact me via the app's website (http://skeinapp.com). Thanks again!

So, I've finished my garter stitch scarf (hooray). I saw a pattern I liked with increases and decreases (gonna work on my purling first, though) that asked for Noro Kureyon. I was able to go to a local yarn store with a friend and it was itchy and stiff to me. I got some Noro Silk Garden, which is alright. They were out of Taiyo though. Has anyone tried that? And do they all really have knots in them? I'm not sure I like the idea of knots while I knit...

Can anyone recommend me a good pattern to make a monster? My partner loves grotesque things and I knit curious creatures as Christmas and birthday presents, but I've run through the best of Hansi Singh* and I've already done gargoyles**. I'm looking for something small, preferably with a complex pattern that leads to a good finish (so, for instance, I'd rather knit in the round than seam, I'd rather wrap and turn than fiddle with jointing and stitching later, I'm fine with picking up stitches etc). Anyone got any suggestions? *http://www.ravelry.com/designers/hansi-singh **http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/percy-pendragon-gargoyle
