I'm fine with any genre - I don't game on PC, but I have 360, Vita, 3DS, PS3, PS2, and a host of other older consoles. Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is a DS mystery puzzle game that's pretty goofy and cute like P4 was.

Looking for a game which deals with production/supply chains and trading etc similar to the Anno series, just not the anno series cause i've put a few hundred hours into them. Simple to no combat would be cool.

Tropico has supply chains, but they are a bit simpler. Zero direct combat too, unless you count building army to crush rebels.

OpenTTD is all about supply chains. It's not really "trading" focused, since you're getting paid for transporting goods rather than the goods themselves, but with the right mods (which are easily downloaded and activated right from the game itself) some of the supply chains can be quite complicated and interesting.

The Patrician and Port Royale series are pretty much exactly this. Start with simple trade routes, then set up businesses and create supply chains in various cities, maybe even becoming a mayor of a town eventually. Combat is fairly simple--even optional--and is mostly restricted to fighting off the occasional pirate that attacks your trade convoys. It's a little more involved and lucrative in the Port Royale series as you can take privateer jobs from various nations and do a little piracy yourself, but you can easily play the entire game as a mostly peaceful merchant/producer.

There really needs to be more combat-optional trading games. I've played so much Anno and Patrician, but most everything else is like "You don't want to spend all that money on an army???? Okay, well, that's what your competitors did so you're hosed now!" I want to be the friendly resource-rich nation that everyone mutually protects because if any of them were to turn on me, all of my other buddies would immediately crush them.

It really is, and I can't explain why. Part of it is that combat in general--both ship combat and raids on pirate bases/towns--is terrible. But the world in general also seems a lot more sterile and boring than PR2, even though the towns and the like are pretty much exactly the same. I can't put my finger on it but PR2 is definitely a better game. I will say one thing though--the customizable AI for setting up supply chains in PR3 is amazing compared to any of the other Port Royale/Patrician games. Rather than just saying "pick up/buy this, drop off/sell that" you can explicitly set convoys to do things like keep stocks at certain towns level or move goods to specific trading hubs. The micromanagement needed in previous games to perfectly balance your convoys was crazy, and had to be done constantly as towns grew and expanded. And even when things were working perfectly, a small disruption in the supply chain like a pirate attack or a slight overproduction of a good could throw everything into chaos. It's still a potential pitfall in PR3 but it's much easier to avoid.

I have an xbox360 and a pc, I also have a girlfriend. What are some fun local co-op games we can play together? I'd really love something like Baldur's gate dark alliance (Which unfortunately does not seem to be compatible with the xbox360 it slows to a crawl), but any solid co-op experience would be welcome. I already have Lord of the Rings war in the north, castle crashers and dungeon seige 3.

I'm in a bit of a gaming lull at the moment, I need a PC game I can dump an ungodly amount of hours into. I've been really digging games like Binding of Isaac and Spelunky lately, I guess they're roguelikes, I don't know. Something with RPG elements that is easy to jump into and hard to stop playing would be ideal. Also, Dark Souls is my favourite game ever. Any suggestions?

Dark Souls is also my favorite game ever, so hopefully that leds some credibility to my suggestions here. One would be to do actual roguelikes. People call BoI and Spelunky names like roguelikelike and roguelite because they take certain elements of hardcore roguelikes. I recommend Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup, as it's a pretty good game with an almost halfway decent graphical tileset. Another option, and this fits a little less with your requirements, is Dota. It does have a serious learning curve on it, so you can't just jump in, but holy gently caress I have never encountered another game that is so good at sucking all of the hours out of the day. It's my most played game on Steam at 866 hours.

Obviously all of Bethesda's open world games for RPGs that you can put hours into. Skyrim and Fallout New Vegas are the newest and can be played without mods, but if you can follow the instructions in the modding threads, Fallout 3, Oblivion, and Morrowind are great games as well. None of them will have the same sense of accomplishment that Dark Souls gives when you can finally master it, but there's another satisfying feeling to be had breaking the leveling system. A weird suggestion might be Paradox's brand of mapgames. You can put a ton of hours into Crusader Kings 2 and Europa Universalis 4. And there's an RPG-like pleasure in seeing your dynasty or country grow into a monster. They certainly have the hard to stop playing element to them. More hour sinks might be Diablo 3 and its cousins like Torchlight 2, or perhaps Mount and Blade for adventuring and leveling?

You can set it up so two-to-four players can control the other party members in combat.

My biggest time eaters are Terraria (260 hours, big patch Oct 1) FTL (180 hours) and Planetside 2 (800 hours). Cataclysm is a roguelike that is being community-developed but I lost track of it before it took off, that was a great timesinker, probably even better now. Also nothing destroys time like Civilization series or Dwarf Fortress.

Speaking of Diablo 3, is there much out there in the way of popular online games in that style of 'murder loot pinatas of varying difficulty (preferably not too easy)' besides Diablo 3 itself? I enjoyed that to a point, though no where near as much as D2--I don't think anything's hitting that combination of 'addictive' and 'I'm not an adult' ever again, never mind the various problems D3 had/has.

Metroidvanias. Give me a big loving list of Metroidvanias. Don't bother asking me what ones I've played or haven't played give me them all. NOTE: Wii/WiiU/3DS/DS/GBA/GBC/PC only thanks in advance, but if it can be emulated on one of those systems one way or another then go hog wild. This INCLUDES Banjo-Kazooie type collect-a-thons. ANY GAME with power-up-based progression. It can be linear as all hell "under the hood" as long it has a completion percentage and the illusion (if not reality) of choice. Sequence breaking is a plus. GIMME GIMME GIMME.
