I just spent the last half an hour playing cops and robbers with a total stranger and it was the best thing. We blew up and he stole ANOTHER cop car and found me, and we kept it going. And then I went AFK... And come back to find him with a freakin' paddy wagon. I love this game

Where you allocate your hours will have a fairly large impact on how "methy" your character looks. More sleep, less illegal activities, prettier player.

I finished the main story today. I don't understand the people who feel like they got screwed out of not saving at the right time. They spell out each choice for you and which one you should take. On the subject of GTA Online, it is a blast when you get it to work. It took two days worth of trying, having to create two characters, watching that loving intro at least four times, and doing the opening race twice. It all seemed worth it when I made a friend and robbed a store with him. That being said, I am not touching any jobs outside of robberies until I know for sure that I will get to keep this character. The game world may be severely limited for me, but having to create John Felony for the second time was a real drag. Also, did any other Social Club members not get the option for John Marston when they had to recreate a character?

Tried to log on after putting the kid to bed, and same old "waiting for other players" bullshit. Decided to give it one more go, and I got on! Kicked Lamar's rear end in the tutorial, tried to do a few missions with mic-less pubbies, and they all dropped out because they were getting their stupid asses kicked, so I managed to finish the mission solo and get all the glory. Even won two bicycle races before losing pretty badly in a muscle car race, whereupon the guy dropped out after getting his first win. Awesomely managed to hook up with a few guys in the Stairs USA crew, which mostly entailed running from the cops in the desert for a half hour and small change. Don't wanna brag, but I one-shotted a police chopper out of the sky with my pistol. Not a big deal... Had an amazing time until it got cut short (kid woke up sick), and I can't wait to really get into the meat of this thing. Turns out doing GTA poo poo with other people is a ton of fun. Hope everyone else gets to get into it soon.

So I started a new character, got past the race, got into the other tutorial segments, ended up in a session with a friend and tooled around, bought some new clothes, got into chases with pubbies, etc etc. Then I got kicked. Now my character's disappeared and the game says that save slot is corrupted. What?

So if I'm on "Launching session" but it's showing my character standing next to a bunch of other characters who sometimes appear or disappear and it has the heading (Settings, Players, Details), is there a chance I'll actually get to do the race or am I still hosed?

I don't understand why the online is corrupting saves. What is being saved? I started online with one save file and then later swapped to a different save where I wasn't invested in the stock market. I still had my same online guy.

I missed something somewhere, but do you have to manually divvy up a take for a robbery? Some mute fellow helped me with my first one and sped off on his crotch rocket (after dropping me off at my car, such a gentleman) after the heat died down.

drat, once I got going I didn't even notice the time fly by. Basically spent 3 hours robbing stores and shooting poo poo with the 1009 crew. Won my first race as well after PITing the leader. I can imagine once heists and more complex stuff gets phased in its going to be really fun.

PS3: Finally got past the tutorial, started up the initial race, got past "finding players", but I've been stuck on "launching session" for like 5 straight minutes. Wonder how long it takes to time out. The song that started when I launched the event has been playing the whole time and the "launching session" wheel is still turning so I guess it's not totally frozen.

Is there a way to make your character respawn holding the gun you want in deathmatch? You'd think that's what the "starting gun" option in the lobby would be but it isn't, I need to manually switch to my .50 pistol every time I respawn. This is the same as 90% of other people. It doesn't time out. If you want to try again you have to restart the game via the PS Home button.
