Ok so apparently now that I'm rank 52 a free Buzzard spawns at the Sandy Shores airfield. I was driving around with another goon and he jumped in and piloted while I jumped in the copilot seat. Apparently the copilot gets a Missile camera you can turn independently of the chopper and fire missiles at whatever you aim at. The camera is just like the one the copilot gets on the Maverick with the added ability that you can blow up stuff you look at.

Also sorry to that goon, I just realized I forgot to share the funds from that one store robbery!

I was grinding Meth'd Up with some guys from the 1000-1009 crew yesterday, and discovered that when a player dies in a car sometimes their foot will stay on the pedal and keep the vehicle going. One of our guys was driving the RV, died, then the RV ended up going full speed straight across into the highway. I was freaking the gently caress out because I thought the rednecks could actually steal the RV back, then I freaked out more when I realized I had to stop an RV going full speed down the highway all by myself. It got caught on a rock though, so we got really lucky on that.

Imagine how much more sad and lonely we would be if not for the hard work of lowtax. Here's $12.95 to his aid.
Comparing off-road VS sports tires on my Voltic it really does feel like there is a difference in grip, need something like that to notice it on straights and turns though.

Then my game bugged out and made previously owned tires vanish so I don't dare run proper recording tests of this. Shiet.

Oh, tires actually affect something? I saw that they didn't change the stats that were listed there, so I assumed they were only cosmetic. I suppose "grip" should be added to the visible list of stats for a car.

edit: that would include how low their center of gravity is, if that's modeled. I think it is but I am not sure.

Is this weird? Is this too weird? Do you need to sit down?
We learned last night you can quickly win VD with stickies but couldn't figure out the exact method. We got it about 3 times out of 6.

What we do know:
- you can't step into the yellow circle until the vehicle is prepped
- you need at least a few stickies on the car, the rear sections work best. It would fail when one was on the windshield.
- you may need two people in the car. Neither one can be the trigger man

Sticky the back and sides of your vehicle. 5 is best. Two people get in and drive straight for the van at the back (where the coke is)as fast as you can, triggering the yellow mission starter on the way. Trigger explosives just before reaching the van. The car and the players should live. Even if the coke is destroyed you will win.

If there are people who haven't lost any I'd love to know what they are doing right that I'm not. I've followed all the tips posted by Rockstar, not pressing retry, exiting to single player every time, etc.

People who lose characters are posting about it, yes, but that doesn't mean those are the only people playing. Everyone who got online fine and have been playing without problems aren't going to check in and post about it each day. I doubt there is some magic formula to not lose characters, you can minimize risk by exiting to singleplayer and not brute forcing your way into multiplayer but basically it all comes down to the sporadic cloud. I'd be willing to bet the majority of players haven't lost any character though.

Can you grind Violent Ducts by just quick-retrying when you're in with a bunch of strangers or do you have to all collude on it?

All it takes is two people to hit restart for it two replay, I still wouldn't trust pubbies on that one. Way too easy to blow up the coke.

I farmed The Los Santos Connection last night, and it's easily my favorite job yet. It's got three different locations with guys to kill and things to do, so it gives out three times the RP. It goes up to six people, so you can split into three teams and blitz the objectives all over the map in rapid succession.

Team A, which just needs to be one person, does the first objective alone and then heads straight for the airport.
Team B goes to the hacking objective and after they are done they go for Martins house.
Team C just goes right to the airport to start the assault when Team B is done.

Team B has the hardest role (covering the person hacking), and Team C has the most chances to gently caress up (blowing up the coke or crashing both helicopters). You get at least 2800 RP, which can go up to 3250 for some reason, and 16 grand. Plus there's another 11 grand in loose cab if you shoot the crates at each site and grab the cocaine.

Infinitely more teamwork than that mission Death from Above. That is literally just the three guys that do the mission, and the fourth guy who keeps his hands clean and turns it in.

SO I found some houses in the Vinewood hills with garages that open when you go up to them, and you can go inside. They don't really do anything, but I don't recommend hiding from the cops in one because they'll eventually open the door when there's 10+ outside.

In Boneyard, when you first spawn, off to the right there is a small trailer/building in front of the red wall. There is a very small space between the wall and building. You can hide back there and hit RB to take cover up against the building. You can pick off enemies on either side by just popping out, getting a kill, and popping back into cover.

It's very hard for helicopters to hit you back there as well, so if you're good you can solo the whole thing.

On the subject of Carmaine, yeah he's annoying as gently caress most of the time, but if he wants to kill you, let him. If you can't fight back and want to cry about it like a pubbie, put on passive mode or change sessions. I understand the whole "goon honor" thing, but if he started loving with me I'd sticky bomb his car or gently caress with him back. I don't get why we need to have a big discussion about kicking someone out of the Goon clan because he's loving with you little babbys.

Edit: making a goon list of whiners, gonna chase you down and kill all of you.

I did this at a Los Santos customs when I was at 4 stars. I was able to drive in but it didn't do anything. So I hid in the back and killed cops for about 20 minutes. Sometimes the garage door would close, but it when open when new cops came.

Normally part of the appeal of a goon group is that the whole focus is on being a menace to the rest of the players of the game. Normally we are not all that much better at the game then the pubbies, but our organization is always significantly better. Part of that comes from the fact that most goonsquads look down on killing each other if there are pubbies around to harass.

How much is too much to you? Should goon crews allow members to just sabotage anything they are up too? A lot of the fun stories coming out are made possible because we have a big group of people to draw from and cooperate with. If someone kept blowing up the helicopters the dudes earlier were using, that story would be a lot more boring.

Preventing the more drastic self trolling is done by not accepting the more minor poo poo like what carmine is doing as well. There are thousands and thousands of pubbies to kill, so why bother going after your own crew members? Why bother joining the crew at all really.

The best mission so far is The Los Santos Connection. You start with a small gang shootout and steal a car with a GPS tracker. You take that car out to the hills and defend a position while one person hacks a computer. Then you drive to the airport and attack a hanger and steal some coke (with some attack choppers if you want) . Finally you destroy the dealers, all their vehicles, murder a guy running away and fly back to Martin.

Definitely the most involved mission and gives $16k and 4,200 rp.

I can't believe you people are really posting these things on these forums

Here are some reasons to have a goon crew: get invited to goon missions, restrict freeroam chat to only goons. Freeroam is primarily about loving around, it's not super serious and if you really want to make money and be serious you should probably go do missions instead of banking everything on a green car that sells for 10k once every couple of hours. It's embarrassing that this has to be explained to you

just put Caramine on your list of people to kill on sight and call in Merryweather hit squads on him if you see him. It's pretty obvious he's getting his kicks from killing clanmates so if that dries up, so does his fun.

bear is driving is essentially right: if it were a pubbie you'd just ruin them in return, right? Same applies here. Don't even pay attention to his crew tag. Maybe he'll get kicked out, maybe he won't, but since you can take direct action to stop the problem, do it.

On an unrelated note I had a crewmate toss a bounty on me so I could wait it out for the ingame day for the achievement. It was comical because I just sat in my apartment. I had two people trying to get me for upwards of 20 minutes (for $1k, shameful) - one sitting in his car outside my front door, one lined up outside my garage. The front door guy kept buzzing my door as if I was going to let him in - and as if he could shoot me in my own place, which you can't. Eventually they mustered up a kick vote or the server just decided to punt me off - either way it put me in a server on my own, so I flew a Titan around working on my flying skill while the last few ingame hours ticked off. Easy money.

I think next I'm going to park on the roof of my apartment and get a bounty placed on me so everyone thinks I'm inside, then have a crewmate come in and farm the campers outside the door.
