Its a really good album and you can stream it at the link above.

NPR has been covering dance music for many years now at the same ratio that they always have. I mean, they put Untrue on their list of 50 Most Important Recordings Of The Decade.

Some friends of mine just released an ep of sort of quirky analog techno, including a remix from yours truly:

Just witnessed a b2b set between Ben Ufo, Pearson Sound & Pangea.

Best set I've experienced this year so far.. they dropped this one track which sampled a train with a vocal over it, anyone might know what I'm talking about?

The answer is, mate, because I want to do you slowly. There has to be a bit of sport in this for all of us. In the psychological battle stakes, we are stripped down and ready to go. I want to see those ashen-faced performances; I want more of them. I want to be encouraged. I want to see you squirm.

This is pretty solid, though very different to what I'm used to from him.

Couple of recent killer sets I've been listening to:

Dixon's Essential Mix: https://soundcloud.com/innervisions/essential-mix-september-2013
(this version is missing Pete Tong's voiceovers and that seriously annoying IT WAS DEEP IT WAS SOULFUL IT WAS DISCO IT WAS TECHNO clip they loving love to play every 2 minutes, just in case you forgot it was an Essential Mix)

Martin Garcia - Cabin Pressure on Frisky Radio July 2013: https://soundcloud.com/lanparty/frisky-cabin-pressure-martin
Amazing stuff, highlights include a stellar Tilt track early on and a storming Henry Saiz remix about an hour in.

Love this guy, so happy he released something new. Closer to the sound I've been into lately too. Too bad its mixed because there are a few tracks I would definitely play out.

Also that Ben UFO em and Truss boilerrom are on point. Lots of good music on this page.

Looks like you might like the series of Sex Tags labels (Mania, UFO, Wania) or the L.I.E.S. offshoot Russian Torrent Versions. There's also some similar sounding stuff on a new label called Going Good, but it's only got 3 releases out as of now. Anyway, in addition to that, these might be worth checking out: Creme Organization, Viewlexx, Apron, Workshop, Dixon Avenue Basement Jams, 7777, Ruf Kutz, The Trilogy Tapes, Clone, FIT, Berceuse Heroique or for some older stuff, scour the back catalogs of Dance Mania, Transmat, Rocking House or Red Planet/UR.

Anyway, L.I.E.S. is still on point and is probably my label of the year again, kicking last few releases including a great 12" from Entro Senestre, but this high-BPM track from Voiski has really been doing it for me.

Hey man,

Thanks for the reply.. I'll have a closer look at Going Good, Ruf Kutz and Dixon.. I'm pretty familiar with the other labels.

Definitely agree with your statement on LIES, Ron Morelli is unstoppable right now..

Has anyone heard of Ghost Culture's new EP Mouth? Red Smoke has been played in heavy rotation for me lately..

The first lineup announcement for Movement was today and it's a doozy again this year. Plus I'm finally going to make up there, got my tickets already! Super excited even though it's 5 months away still. Tons of stuff I'm really looking forward to seeing, Liebing, Sanhaji, Monoloc, Dustin Zahn always does good sets, Stacey Pullen, Kenny Larkin, Luis Flores, Raiz, Speedy J + Lucy, I'm leaving a bunch off here because otherwise I'd just be listing off 2/3rds of the poster.

They have had De La Soul there in 2001, a Dilla tribute with a bunch of folks, and Pete Rock there. Probably some more.

I'm so excited. This year is interesting in that there is a separate festival going on at Ford Field on the 4th of July, as well as a free techno festival at Campus Martius the same day. It will probably be a cluster gently caress because the organizer has been involved in drama before, but I'm still going.
