We have about 5 stray cats that cross through our yard. None of them care that we exist and usually take off if we open the door. The one saturday, this guy/gal is sniffing plants in my yard and I am outside. I say, "Oh, Hi!" and he/she just runs up to me and flops on its side wanting to be loved like it is nobody's business.  I had a hard time taking a picture because every time I moved my hand away the cat would be like, "No, no, no, use both hands." It didn't want treats or water, just love. Now every Saturday, around 6 o'clock, the cat shows up and we hang out. It's perfect because I can't have a cat due to my wife's allergies. I assume it has owners somewhere. My dog, however, loves cats more than I do. (We had her at the vet one day and they wheeled out a cage full of kittens for adoption, I thought my dog was going to have a heart attack. But who wouldn't when someone wheels in a crate full of kittens?) So, she goes nuts when the cat shows up. Last time, I introduced them. They sniffed for a bit but my dog is tactless and got too pushy, we had to put her back inside.

That cat is adorable, and looks similar to mine. You should absolutely give it all the loves  It also sounds familiar...my gf's dog is kinda pushy around my cat. It's internal dialogue must run something like "SNIFF ITS BUTT! SNIFF BUTT! BUTT IS MY FAVORITE TO SNIFF!" Familiarization is key. After a while they learn to veg out together.  See?

Yeah, they are. The one time I met one face to face, I left with dinner plate-sized muddy pawprints all over my clothes. I couldn't even be mad, it was so doofy and happy.
