Board games of all varieties (6 others to hate in Diplomacy for best results), Warmachine/Hordes for miniatures, and any activity gaming or otherwise that does not involve people who smell strongly of cheese or cheese product. I am a moderately seasoned GM, and willing to fill the role if there are players willing to give me the chance, with a strong taste for the narrative end of the spectrum. I'm not native to the area, and being here for little less than 3 years has not helped, as the few contacts I've made have promptly moved out of town. For fantasy roleplaying I prefer to take it somewhat seriously for immersion. Exploration, planning, dungeons, etc. I find that a cohesive universe is better for making jokes in anyway.

This worked out really well the last time I got a local group going, trying again now that my job has settled in. There's lots of game stores and people in Chicago but not many on the north outskirts or that venture five feet from an L stop. I used to play DnD with my buddies in high school, but that was years ago and I haven't played since.
