Sorry all, I had plans to pick up a case of both Matt and Otto but I underestimated the demand. There were only 100 cases of Matt and there were already 100 people in line by 7pm (doors opened at ten). The earliest I could get there was nine so it just wasn't going to happen. I did get tickets to the anniversary event next month though and word is that bottles of Pannepooch Reserva will be available. I'll be getting as much as I can along with anything else they make available.

I'm having the worst luck trying send some beer. 2 different FedEx stores and a ups store have decided to cut open my neatly packed box, see beer and deny the package. Any ideas? This is with me already having a label bought and ready to apply.

Then she explained that they can't but only from the hub stores, not the retail outlets. I haven't been to a FedEx since, and twice since I have used UPS for shipping. I told them that I was shipping glass bottles, but that they were well-packed and not to worry. They took it without question and shipped it. (Only one of these times can be attributed to my making the [really, horribly clueless] clerk uncomfortable enough to want to hurry me through the store)

I've probably sent 100+ packages through the same facility* near my work and have never had them open any of my boxes. They've never asked any questions, but I figured I'd tell them that I sell artisan soda online or something. *the local facility is not a retail outlet

no, i mean they can't arbitrarily open up your package. they can advise you about proper packaging, but if someone walks into my store with a Van Gogh an literally wants to slap a shipping label on the canvas, they are allowed to do so. at a UPS Store, if they suspect you of shipping something illegal/not allowed, they can call UPS and say, "hey, there's something sketchy about this box" and then UPS can look into it, but clerks at the store cannot just whip out a loving box cutter and open poo poo up. FedEx stores are corporately-owned, so they might be a little different, but i still don't think they'd be allowed to do that for obvious reasons. funkybottoms fucked around with this message at 21:48 on Oct 16, 2013 |

Ya, I used to work at a UPS Store and dudes would drop off prelabeled boxes that smelled like the dankest dank you've ever danked. We just took the box, gave them their receipt, and on we went.

When I took my last round of trade boxes they asked me what was in it, I said "Olive oil. " and they slapped a label on it. I'm thinking next round I'm going to affix "Lowtax Mangosteen Superjuice, Inc" to the boxes.

If you can get to a fedex or ups near an office park they usually won't question anything because they just assume it's work related. Every time I've shipped it's been from a location like that and they just weigh the package and slap a label on it with zero questions asked.

You plebs need to sign up for FedEx online accounts. Pack it, measure/weigh it, print a label and slap it on. Drop it off at a Fed Ex location (or even schedule a pickup). It might even be cheaper than taking it to a brick and mortar - I sent 30lbs of awesomeness to funkyb for like $12. You don't have to answer silly questions. You don't even have to make eye contact if you don't want to. My last few trades, I had my FedEx guy pick up the boxes at my house because I didn't have time to drop them off that day. I tip him with Starbucks cards when he has to lug stupid heavy boxes around for me, but I still come out way ahead it seems.

I've never had a box questioned even once. If they asked, I'd just say it was tube-radio equipment (hence the fragility and glass notices I sometimes use). I suppose I could claim it was snow globes or something, but if the box managed to leak, it'd be curtains regardless. On that note, I have one more bottle of Duck Duck Gooze available for trade. Also still have several bottles of BA Speedway Stout.

Hey friends, I'm still looking to pick up a bunch of HotD Fred and Adam. Can some kind soul help me out here? Preferably I'd like 12 of each, but I realize that's a lot to ship. But even if you could manage like a six pack of each I'd be grateful. We can either do a trade or a straight up money transaction. Someone be a friend.

I'm glad you liked it. I was a little put off about the More Moro, and a local store was selling a bunch of singles from four/six packs that I hoped to make up for the stuff that didn't work out. Cheers on a blind trade that worked out well on both sides. Hamhandler fucked around with this message at 22:51 on Oct 23, 2013 |

Hey goons. Just wanted to drop a line and say I'm new to this and please be gentle. I'm going to be researching the beers I really want to try and go from there but....I'd just like to throw my hat in the ring for being available for MD, DC, PA, VA beers people want to try. If anyone has any requests from that area please let me know. I'm trying to figure out what breweries/beers I should be targetting in this area to work up my trade stash.

I don't know if I have anything good enough to trade for a membership exclusive single bottle release, but I will try my hardest. Tired Hands stuff, Cantillon from my cellar, shelf turds from the city of brotherly love. Whatever you want. PM or email me neufpas at the googlemail

New to this so just trying to get some guidance. The few sites I've been to is just overwhelming cause its 100's of beers, etc.

Hey dudes, I've got a buddy from Massachusetts who I owe for a favor he did me. He's always talked up Ipswich Ale, which is made right near his hometown. If anybody from the East Coast has access to Ipswich Ale I'd like a couple 6-packs. I live in the Bay Area, and have access to some pretty great stuff, but I'm not enough of a beer nerd to know what I should list. If it's available on the West Coast I can probably find some. Thanks all.

Looking for local beers trading partners. Don't have any rare ones as of yet because I'm just starting this trading thing. (Unless you want Troeg's Master of Pumpkins or LaGrave). Right now I'm looking to trade with anyone willing across the country. I am in Maryland. So I can get mid-atlantic beers.

I'm not opposed to trading it off now for future considerations (to any trustworthy goons or others I've traded with before), but I would need some kind of firm commitment that I'm actually going to get whatever beer is offered in return. I'm not sure I want to hold onto it for weeks until people are complaining its falling off and they don't want it. I'm liable to just drink the trade by then.

Hey, can you come to the Alesmith 3 days of Speedways on Wednesday the 6th? Aside from it being a small beer goon meet, a trade I had set up for Heady shipped really fast (as in, I was just getting my box packed today and it showed up on my doorstep last night, never even got a tracking # from the guy first) so I have some that I'd love to exchange for some Citra.
